by Bennie Okerblom on Checked it out last Thursday night. It's large, it's loud, it's a real club! Not many of them in NYC with people over 21, so it was a nice treat to be one of the youngest people there! The crowd is very mixed, a lot of Europeans and older crowd. Very Vegas/Euro feel. Lots of champagne flowing with sparklers. Danced till the lights went on! Little too crowded for my taste, but it was a good crowd. Will be back... It's the in spot right now.
by Odilia Preyer on Where else could you eat brunch, get crunk and shake your ba-dunk-a-dunk with some of San Francisco's finest gay men?(Rhetorical question) We all know what these reviews have told us over and over again: a) you will get sloppy with bottomless mimosas b) you may dance on chairs c) everyone's hot, but you can't touch - without permission d) even if you are somebody, making reservations are still advised As far as the food served, here's some suggestions: skip the huevos rancheros and stick to the simpler items on the menu - although, I did like the spiffy frittata, but then again, everything's likable after a few mimosas; Give up on your campaign to expel carbs because their warm biscuits and jams are to die for!
by Emily M. on I love the GAMH - it's another place that makes you feel like you're going back in time. The decor is ornate and old fashioned and the stage is very intimate. The two best shows I ever saw here were Blur and Kings of Convenience - fabulous. I've also seen Idlewild, Modest Mouse and others here. The parking is very hard if you don't want to pay, and as usual, the lovely denizens of the T-loin will keep you frightened, entertained, and disgusted as you wait in line to get in. :)
