by Laura Y. on I went here for the opening of 2010. Thanks to other rateclubers I knew just what to expect. My boyfriend and I left the east bay around 4:30pm and got there around 5pm. We had no trouble finding parking in the park. Since we were early, we sat on the chairs in the park right in front. As little before 5:30pm, a line started to form and so we quickly made our way over there. Good thing because by 5:45pm, the line was getting really long. We were right in front, though! Right away, we went to the Planterium and got tickets for the last showing at 8:30pm. Then went to the rain forest right after and there was no line! The rain forest leads you down into the aquarium and albino aligator. We had so much time left to spare before the Planeterium show so we sat around the aquarium. If was funny because there is one part of this room where if you sit on one side of the half circle, you can hear everything that the people on the other side are saying. Finally watched the show and left a little early. We felt we saw everything we needed to see. FYI drinks are pretty expensive. $7 for Gorden Bierch..=( Yes, buy tickets online!
by Tiffani L. on so my first question is to all of the people that rely on Rateclub as your info board on whether or not you should check a place out.... take SUEDE for instance, if you want to know how it is, then come by and check us out for yourself. I too also work at suede. I don't complain about it becuase i like it. And to the guests and customers that come by if you dont like it, and you continue to review/blog/post comments about how much you dread it....WHY DO I KEEP SEEING YOUR ID EVERY WEEK WHEN YOU COME BACK?!?!?..stop wasting our time if you dont like it. to the rest of you that are curious about the club.... We are a 21+ club located near the wharf area (north beach/ telegraph hill). We have adequate street parking if you arrive early enough, (remember it is the wharf and parking is limited) otherwise parking is available usually $20 in the parking garage across the street. The music can range from hip hop, top 40's, salsa/latin, reggae, international it just varies on the promotional group we have hosting. For example if its a latin promoter most likely you'll see predominantly latin customers or mixed crowd and hear hiphop-reggaeton-salsa meringue music, but if its an Asian group promoting you'll hear hiphop-club hits-top 40's...i'm sure you get the idea. For the smoking population..we have 2 smoking rooms one upstairs in the hallway between the bathrooms and downstairs to the left of the stage thru the red door. If you still have concerns or questionable thoughts of the club environment check out the website at WWW.SUEDESF.COM, there you'll find pictures, layout of the venue, contact information, and pricing info regarding admission, bottle service, VIP party info, etc. hope this helps and you come by to get YOUR OWN OPINION on the club.
by Onie Paleaae on By day - restaurant. By night - college bar. It's more a bar than a restaurant. I think in the bar aspect, it fails horribly. It's no more than a small room with neon lights, cheesy decor and music coming out of someone's laptop. It charges cover, is always packed and can be tons of fun, depending on the crowd. It's a college bar, what can you expect? 2 stars because their burgers, fries and other bar food is OFF THE HOOK.
