This is truly a wonderland of food! They're starting to do some rearranging that I don't know how much I'll like (cosmetics looks less classy!). However, this is my favorite place to grocery shop and spend my whole paycheck. Really, if you are hungry and slightly broke, go in here. There are so many samples you can get a meal just picking your way around the store. Trust me. I love all the prepared foods sections. The produce always looks nice and the wine selection is decent. Here's what puts this place at 5 stars for me: the people. No matter what mood I'm in I always leave the store smiling. Every checker I have encountered was fun and interesting and liked to talk about whatever! They all seem happy and everyone is always willing to help you with whatever you need. Plus, unlike the hellhole of the parking lot for the North location, this has a true hell hole of a parking garage. And normally parking is fine. However, during busy times, it can be awful. Here's why: I feel this location tends to attract jerks. They span a wide variety of types of people, but these are the folks who will drive the wrong way in the garage just to snake the spot you were about to get rightfully. They will bump into you and not say "excuse me", they will block entire aisles and go temporarily deaf when you try to get them to move. And sometimes they will grab the last bag of tortillas you were reaching for and deny you of your delicious local bread. But the staff are so awesome they make me forget these fools and enjoy the fact that this shit is Austin through and through!

The blackened shrimp tacos are absolutely delicious! I love that they put fried leeks on them, it's a nice twist. My friend truly enjoyed the crab legs although they were a bit messy. Our server was Helen and she was fantastic! Very friendly and not pushy at all. If you have an opportunity to sit on the rooftop deck DO IT!!!

Zahav has been super hyped up and I love Israeli food - the Jew in me, I suppose. But this place really was very good. Our waiter was ridiculously enthusiastic but fun to joke around with. And the drinks are pretty fabulous. They really want to suggest things to you, but I would pass on the "salads," which are eight spoonfuls for $14 (yes, they charge per person for no reason, so if there were three or four of us that little thing would have cost even more! So not kosher, no pun intended). I'll take a big bowl of Israeli salad on its own any day (and I make a killer one by the way). Your money is better spent on extra mezes like the yummy borekas and stuffed grape leaves. Also pricy for the portion. The skewers are easier to swallow the price for - delicious and beautifully presented. We skipped the hummus which I hear is great to make room for dessert (we got the New School, which was just okay). But we did ask for a piece of the laffa, worth the $2.
