My girls and I drove in from Sacramento & were in the guest list line by 10:10. The bouncers were nice to us, but that was probably because we weren't acting like some of the stuck up beezies they're used to dealing with. I was glad that they stopped large groups of people from joining their friends in line otherwise we wouldn't have made it in before the get-in-free cut off, which we just barely made. I felt bad for people in line behind us, I think they should make it so the guest list is a little more exclusive instead of letting as many people possible sign up only for it to be a roulette chance of them getting in. Once we were in I liked the vibe of the place, it looked really nice. I was jealous of the ViP booths when I saw that they were served chocolate covered strawberries! I preferred the music upstairs but apparently so did everyone else because it was crowded and smelly up there. We headed to the less crowded ground floor for the bar. After realizing there was no place to sit except the ViP areas I tried to rest my feet by sitting on the stairs for a few minutes..it wasn't long before a bouncer told me to move it along & let me know there were couches in the basement. Basement? There is a lower level dance floor, with no Dj and no bar, but plenty of space and places to sit. The music is the same as one of the upper levels (I think the 3rd level because there was no electro). Except for one trip to the bar above us we didn't leave the room, why would we? We had a comfy couch to rest our feet on, pretty much the whole dance floor to ourselves (a big plus after the smelly people on level 3), and bathrooms in close proximity. I'm not sure if Mayling was at Roe the night that we were in the basement but I know we're not "tired chicks" & were definitely having a better time than anyone else. I'd say if you like having a place to rest, don't like being squished against nasty strangers while dancing, and don't mind having to take a walk upstairs every once in awhile for a drink, the basement is the place to be, but sshh it's a secret still ;)

I LOVE the green door.  I was putting off writing a review because it's so awesome and I would love to keep it low key like it is, but the doormen do a great job of letting in an awesome crowd! Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays are the best nights to go! Everyone is always super nice, classy and not too over the top.  There is a great bar, tons of places to sit and always good people watching.  Always great music and a dance floor for a groove sesh.  Been there a few times when they've had concerts, which is always amazing, very personal and intimate since it's a smaller place. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

I'd give it a 3.5 overall. We ate on the sky terrace, which is a lovely setting.  It was nearing sunset, so Mother Nature helped a little in the atmosphere department as well.  The food was delicious - right up my alley in terms of flavor.  Each dish was better than I expected it to be, and I had reasonable expectations.  My date and I shared a few different dishes, which seemed to be the way to go. My biggest complaint would be the wait staff, who were just plain quirky.  It took a while to get situated, then the waitress came and sat down on a ledge to take our order.  One of us got a plastic cup with our beverage, the other a glass.  At the end, they lost our tab so we had to tell them everything we'd ordered.  Also, plan ahead because the sky terrace only takes cash. Yeah, 3.5 stars.
