A crepe cart a few blocks from some of the local night clubs on Howard.  When I was heading towards Roe Nightclub, we found this crepe stand.  Though we see it all the time and pass by it all the time, i finally stopped and ordered a crepe.  The guy working there is really nice and the crepe was fresh, warm, and pretty good.  I ordered the brown sugar (yum!), banana (instead of apples), and cinnamon crepe.  Wish there was a little bit of whip creme in it but it was pretty delish!  :)  the nice thing as well is that they're also open late night for after clubbing consumption!

I was kinda disappointed when I typed in Bongos Cuban Cafe Miami and read everyone's reviews. I was so excited to give this place a great review, but after reading through I changed my 5 stars to 4 stars. I remember watching a Rachel Ray episode on Food Network where she had a cuban sandwich at Bongos... so I told myself that we have to try out Bongos when we vacation to Florida, no matter what. I have to agree that we're mostly paying for the atmosphere and the hype of this place, being Gloria Estefan's establishment and all. But we were in such good company so it was hard to feel down about anything while hanging out with the right people and enjoying delicious dishes and mojitos. I have to say that I had a really great experience, aside from the small confusion about where to park and the fact that their elevator to the restaurant was out of order so we had to walk out of the parking garage ramp and out around the streetwalk then up to the restaurant. It was so easy to make a dinner reservation for 6, we called ahead, arrived 10 minutes late but soon as we got there it was smooth sailing. They sat us right in the middle of the room where I guess all the dancing happens when the restaurant turns into a night club. We had 2 people tend our table, one of them is the manager and she was taking very good care of us making sure that we don't run out of drinks or food. She also made suggestions for our order. We had the appetizer sampler, my favorite was the Croquetas de Jamon and the Tamal en Hoja. Then we moved on to the main entree where we had the Filete de Pescado a la Catalana, the Lomo de Puerco and the Picadillo with fried eggs on top. It was delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience the salsa dancing portion of the night because we were so stuffed and exhausted by the end of dinner. But I could tell that place gets crazy and bumpin' once the music comes on and the people start crowding the dance floor. We would love to go back there and experience the whole deal when we return to Miami.

I LIKED IT... The boyfriend and I wandered in here this Sat. afternoon 10 min after they opened and enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves for an hour... It started to get busy around 10PM, but even with all the patrons our servers were very friendly and attentive. LOVE the old school feel of the place and the "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign displayed prominently at the front... plenty of tables and bar stools to sit comfortably at... they also have 3 other rooms (2 look realllly good for a private party) so there's room to wander around. Drinks and food were surprisingly very good (they mix some STRONG drinks here, YUM) and I definitely will be back...
