My first time at "da club" in San Francisco... I'm more of a gritty bar person, but I thought I'd have to check one out eventually. I took a star off because their "guest list" thing wasn't working on the website, I'm not trying to pay $15 to get in. I even emailed them and got no such response, so I had to cough up the money upon entry ANYWAY. Lame. The music is the typical club music, the guys are the typical creepsters (although they were SUPER short the night I went... I'm 5'6" and was wearing 4" heels, towering over those slick haired boyzz). Also, there's this HUGE mirror on the 1st floor... got really dirty when those H-Rats were grinding up on it, hilarious. Overall: The drinks weren't too expensive, quite strong actually. The neighborhood ain't all that... Not sure if I'd come again, maybe for another birthday or special occasion.

The idea of this place sounds cool but once you're inside the novelty gets old really really quick. It doesn't help that everything here is expensive as hell. I bought three snow cones for two people I was with and was in for a bit of a sticker shock when I found out it was $36 ($12 each). One of my friends got a drink and complained it was $20. Don't forget there was a $20 cover to get in here. This is definitely the kind of place you should come to already buzzed/drunk. They do get 3 stars because they do execute the whole carnival theme well enough. There's a girl walking around on stilts, carnival games, cotton candy, popcorn, etc.

The layout of this Improv is a lil strange & it's smaller than others I've been to with seats on the sides & only a mini deck as a back-almost like a big living room. The stage area is hidden though- from front glance you'd think it was just a regular restaurant/bar. The bar is helpful though as everytime I've been here (& every other similar server-based comedy club) the wait staff is SOO SLOWW. So I like to pull up a stool & get drinkin' beforehand with the older bartender- he's always nice & as far as I can tell always there-lol! The outside staff have been OK. Like I said my problem's always waiting for the waitresses. This place is just fine though overall. Plus it gets bonus points for having a cool decorations inside & out inc. an homage mural & Mr. Peanut's official Hollywood Star :)
