by Quinn Rangnow on This was my first time at the Kress, I wanted to check the place out after hearing the buzz from friends and co-workers about it. The place is located in Hollywood with valet parking behind building. We arrived early and was waiting for our party since our RSVP was not ready yet. We decided to hangout at the large bar in the middle of the restaurant. The drinks were on the soft side and cost about 12.00.; average. The place was beautiful and high-end decorated with an Asian theme - what else is new for night spots! The food was on the expensive side, be expected to pay about 100.00 for a party of two. The portions were small, but the placement of the food was excellent. I have tasted better at other similar establishment. My friend order a two piece nigiri salmon, it took until the end of the meal for him to receive it. They forgot my table setting, and gave me a fork and knife but no table cloth, we had to ask to get plates and chopsticks. The service was sub-par at best. The Nightclub was a different story, nice place under ground. They did bring out the go-go dancers and the place was packed. The atmosphere was nice, but again, the drinks were soft. The gogo dancers were hotttt... The Kress is a nice spot to go, but I have better food at Geisha or Katsuya. The club is small, but a nice place to get your grove on.
by Douggers M. on The road to celebrating drunken loss of single hood continued we were all excited to hit Le club. I had made "reservations" for 12 three weeks prior. Upon entering I was very disappointed. The girl working the front was no where to be found. When she finally came around to us she sat us at a large table with not enough chairs in the "parlor room" She never came back. There was a man passed out on the corner sofa area so we woke him up and took over that space. Not something I would expect from a Swanky lounge at the top of Nob Hill. The decor was lacking to say the least. I was expecting plush, sexy and modern, not half done old man house. We were also dressed to the nines probably the only ones in the place. I saw a lot of jeans and fleeces. I really was unhappy with the nonexistent service. We had to go to the bar to get our own bottles of champagne? I was EXTREMELY unhappy to learn later that our nonexistent service was due to a very rude waitress. 12 girls spent a lot on money so far and were willing to spend much, much more to celebrate not only my best friends up coming nuptials but another future bride in our party. She insulted the bride, interjecting her own bitter thoughts and left in the middle of pouring champagne. Upon speaking to the manager she shrugged it off as no big deal. The only saving grace of the night was we did meet a few nice guys that sent us over some bottles and congratulations; and our car service came early to pick us up. One of the girls contacted the owner who was gracious and swift in her response to the problem. I hope that she can make things right. Le club has a lot of potential but i doubt I'll be returning anytime soon.
