by Chris C. on I've been here several times. All visits, but once, were for drinks only. The one time I came for food, I got a burger and it was better then what I expected. Juicy and cooked just right. The service was ok; not bad or great. I asked for a beer from the tap and got a bottle, but I didn't care too much at the time. It's good if you're looking for a quick bite, but a quick drink before a sox game, you'd be better off somewhere else.
by Adrianne Fee on It's tough to be objective when reviewing a club venue. Obviously your mileage will vary depending on who was performing and who was there with you. We've all had bad nights at great clubs and great nights at shady holes in the wall. Mezzanine is one of those venues that gets it right. They have calm and friendly door staff who don't pick fights. That doesn't mean they'll take crap from someone in line though, so don't act like a jerk. They don't take your dignity away by means of an aggressive pat-down. The bars are well stocked and the bartenders aren't a-holes. They have a large outdoor smoking area and it doesn't require getting some inky, smeary, transfer-all-over-your-clothes-or-face stamp. Great sound. THE BATHROOMS WILL STILL BE CLEAN AT 2:45 AM. Because they have someone get in there and clean them regularly. edit: Yvonne reminded me about the bathroom doors. Why do people persist in kicking bathroom doors so that they don't close properly? What did a bathroom door ever do to them hmm? Finally: Strong air conditioning for the win.
by J J. on If you want to dance, this is the place to go. I've been here numerous times, and I always have a fun time. It's small but a guaranteed good time. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the cover is only $5. Bathrooms are a bit small and dirty.
