Automatically receiving the salatim selection of 8 delicious vegetarian salads, plus their delicious lemony hummus with warm laffa bread, the night was already going great. For appetizers I chose the cauliflower and chilled corn soup--- both delicious! The lemony sauce with the cauliflower, and the caramelized flavor from the onions in the soup were awesome. My sister (non-veg) chose the spinach borekas, good but a little dry and a smoked sable w/ challah egg-in-hole type dish, which she raved about. For entrees I chose the eggplant galil, good but not the best of the night. Small and a tad bit salty, and she got the hanger steak, which she loved. For dessert we shared the almond semifreddo and cashew baklava, both of which were amazinggg.... Must check it out (I warm you, it is quite hard to find!)
by Christy T. on After my experience with Bissap Baobab, which was underwhleming and unimpressive (really, a lot), I was actually sort of excited to try this place. I'm not sure why exactly. Again, I've heard raves about this place. And there are loads of good reviews. I think I just really wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. So last night (on a Monday) my beau and I were in need of heel-kicking-up, and some libations. I thought, Gee, Little Baobab would be perfect. All the glory of those very tasty drinks without the wretched service and horrific wait. That will teach me. We arrived to find the place closed on Monday night at 9:30pm. There were people inside. And they just stared out the windows, from behind the locked doors. Holding my delicious beverage hostage. It was not to be. So sad. I mean, who isn't open on Monday night?
