I heard about Continental being a martini lounge and I was initially skeptical.  Some of you may recall some awkward encounters I've had with martinis, and the word "lounge" usually implies some kind of seating that I can't figure out or don't fit in.  We came for brunch, which I thought might act as good training wheels for this so called lounge.  My concerns were exacerbated when we entered and were immediately greeted by the hostess and asked if we'd "like to try a swing chair".  My eyes went wide with fear and I muttered out "uuh, that sounds scary".  We were taken through the circular couch seating area and then upstairs past the "swing chairs".  For those that don't know, the chairs are basically baskets that are suspended from the ceiling like little bird cages.  Maybe some people would like that, but I most certainly would rip the mount right out of the wall and be laughed at by the skinny hip clientele. Anyway, we were seated at a normal person table with a long tweed couch, and directly adjacent to some little furry horsie benches.  Kinda hard to explain, but take my word for it.  I was really starting to like this place, and got a kick out of how frivolous it felt, and wasn't at all pretentious.  Our exceptionally helpful and friendly waitress came out and gave us the menus, as well as an amuse bouche in a tiny shot glass.  I don't recall exactly what it was, but it was raspberry based.  The drinks are a bit expensive, but the brunch fare was all reasonably priced.  I was really impressed with how unique the food items were.  They had udon noodles, egg dishes, huge pancakes and waffles, but I was sold on the chicken biscuit which featured a fresh biscuit, fried egg, fried chicken, and a bacon and onion marmalade.  Stop for a minute to let that sink it.  Bacon and onion marmalade! The food came out and was great!  I was worried that at less than $10 the portions would be elf food and I'd leave starving and having paid a ton of money to eat seasoned air.  Such was not the case here.  My chicken biscuit sandwich was substantial, and Michelle's garden omlette thing was huge and delicious!  Both were served with their excellent homefries.  We also tried the banana fritters which tasted great, but could've been a little crisper. I definitely want to return to try more of their brunch offerings.  Maybe if I'm not in a cheap mood I'll even splurge and try one of their drinks.  This would make an excellent brunch stop, especially if coupled with Capogiro gelato down the street (hint hint, DC brunch bunch!)

I'm giving Dante's 3 stars for the atmosphere, and the fact that our service was really, really good when we went there. Our food was good, but to be honest, the fondue at the Melting Pot is better.  And it's cheaper!  I don't have any real complaints, but despite the fact that this is an Atlanta institution, you can get better fondue elsewhere. However, my husband and I do still want to make a reservation sometime to have the chocolate fondue.

I wish I could give 2 and a half stars because that's how I feel about this place. The place is OK... just ok. It has a grungey theme to the place which I don't find to be all that appealing. The music is ok, almost sounds like they're playing it straight off the radio or something. The place is very small. The dancefloor is tiny.  I wouldn't choose this place to go out to or anything.
