I went to C.A.S. on opening day...when it was free. I never thought I'd go again because of the admission prices. Luckily, my San Francisco-smart friend Laura suggested we go to the $10 NightLife, and my wallet agreed! First off, it is not as formal as you may be thinking. We were excited to dress up (heels, etc.), but were a little overdressed - it's pretty casual - but we had fun anyway. I would suggest drinking beforehand if you're into that. You'll be spending at least $6 for the crappiest of beers...$8 wine...etc...you've read the other reviews. The amount I spent on just a couple drinks made up for the cheap admission price (there's where they get you). Eat beforehand too. Make sure you make it up to the living roof before the sun sets. It was gorgeous up there - people laughing and watching the light dip behind the deYoung. There were some scientists stationed up there with a telescope as well, though it was getting cloudy. Other perks: free coat / bag check and the interactive tidepool downstairs. Such a fun night.

So I finally made it to Flip. Monday evening and the place was absolutely packed. They said the wait was going to be 25-30 mins but it ended up being closer to 45. Either way, the service was pretty quick and snappy once we got seated. After ogling over the menu online for a while, i'd pretty much decided beforehand what I was going to try. I got the Butcher cut, the sweet potato tots and the nutella milkshake. Let me say, the nutella milkshake lived up to all the hype. It was the bees knees. The sweet potato tots were so and so, nothing to write home about. The Butcher Cut burger was very good, no complaints. Maybe not as unique as I expected (couldn't taste the red wine jam), but that's about it. We also got the the lamb burger, the onion rings and the Krispy Kreme milkshake. The lamb burger was excellent, the onion rings good and the Krispy Kreme milkshake was ok, but nowhere near as good as the nutella one. The place's decor is hip and fun. Everything has an "upside down" feel (thus the name). It's got the whole somewhat annoying clubby vibe that every "new" place in Atlanta has for a while, since it's the happening spot at the moment. As for the prices, yeah it's not cheap, but folks just cause it's a burger, doesn't mean it's fast food prices. The burgers aren't terribly priced, and yes, the menu is designed to suck you in with all the sides and extras. Stick to a burger and a side and you'll end up spending $15. That's not *terrible*. Oh and yes, ONE burger and a side is enough to fill you up.

This place is cool and chill. Not as loud as the other restaurants they have. I like their tuna dish, and the outside patio is nice also. Service could use a little work... like actually doing their job maybe! I love the sushi chef upstairs, he's cool and willing to create anything you desire.
