It is one of the few places this far north that offers live music and dancing tho (if you're into that). I think I would have enjoyed this more during the week when it isn't as packed and they don't charge guys a cover - I hear they let people sing with the band on Mondays - Live Karaoke anyone?
by Britany L. on Mikey P. is right, the crowd here is a major buzz kill. And their sound system sucks. I came here last Saturday because my friends were doing their monthly show here. They usually do the event on a Thursday at Harlot, and it's always packed. 330 Ritch was dead on a Saturday night, and I guess the crowd is only used to the hip-hop and Top 40 DJs that normally play here, because they kept coming up to the DJ booth and requesting songs like Britney Spears or "that new song" by the New Kids on the Block, and "is it going to be house music all night?" (It was trance/break beats). I just sat back wondering, "I wonder what would happen if you made requests like that to Tiesto or Paul van Dyk?"
by Jutta Mahmud on Hands down, my favorite venue in SF. The vibe makes you feel like you took a time machine back to 1996. Great sound, great space, cool location, kinda out of the way. Go to a Mighty Breaks party on the 3rd Friday of the month and become a believer.
