Dope. Dope. Dope. I read the reviews for this place before hand, and they referred to its opening as "the Hampton's comes to Hollywood". I was like hmmm sounds enticing.... We went here on friday for my 24th birthday and had a blast. The parking lot is right next to the club (not valet, but whatever). A group of us walked up to the door and there were people waiting outside to get in. I heard the bouncer say they were to capacity and chicks were trying to work out a deal with the bouncer to get in. However, we knew one of the dudes working there and he immediately saw us and let us in. Everyone always says LA is pretentious - that's the one word people use to describe it, and I've always been like...no not really. I've never really noticed it, but this was the first time I actually believed it. You walk up to the door to this place and walk into a beach-like set up. Wood structures. White futons everywhere surrounding a pool. Bar to the right as you walk in. It was decorated for the holidays. Wreaths everywhere. An upside down christmas tree hanging from the ceiling?? Yeah. It was there. Jason walked us to the bar, gave us all a free round of patron shots, introduced us to the bartenders, gave us free drink tickets. He wasn't joking when he said he'd hook us up... He gave us a tour of the club. Took us upstairs to the VIP section. Introduced us to the DJ. We all hung out in the DJ booth for a while, which was dope. There were tables everywhere up there and another bar. We all wanted to smoke, so my friend took my hand and was like come over here where we walked in...and I was like wtf wait...aren't we still indoors...pointed to the ceiling and I noticed that there was no ceiling. Uh amazing. At that point I also noticed the clear runway in the middle of the club. Everyone here is beautiful. The bartenders. The bouncers. The DJ. The patrons. No one. And I repeat, no one there was ugly. I was in awe. The music was good. It was a mish-mash of things. They played a lot of remixed 80s and 90's (like Journey, bar tracks, etc). A lot of 90's rap. Some house. Some stuff on the radio. The one amazing thing about this club is that you can actually MOVE and walk around in it. It isn't packed to capacity like MyHouse or Playhouse. Annnd there are actually places to sit. Like, you can actually sit down and have a conversation with someone. I think I found my new favorite place in Hollywood. Thanks, Jason. :)

I really want to give more stars for the food and wine. In fact, I usually rate based more on food, but the service just sucked. We were there this past Sunday night. First the good: Couple glasses (big ones) of wine, oysters, and the fancy meat plate= all very yum. The bad: Read Bobby J's review, that is pretty much the experience we had. Most of the customers were seated at the bar, my girlfriend and I were one of like two parties at a table, and we repeatedly had to get the guy's attention (who was drinking and chatting with someone sitting at the bar) to order, get the check, etc. He was nice enough, but seriously, if you see two people sitting and staring at you, with empty glasses and plates in front of them, you might want to check on them.
