by Sanna B. on It has been years since either of us has been to SCK Midtown, so the man & I gave it a shot this past Monday night as we had a buy one get one free entree certificate. Without a reservation it was a 30+ minute wait due to three large corporate groups, but we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. Our meal was good enough, but there were a few things that made it three, not four (and definitely not five) stars. 1. My peach martinee which boasted of vodka and peach puree tasted more like well vodka and schnapps. (I won't even talk about how my glass was only a little more than 3/4 full - oh wait, I just did. I mean for $10, I would expect a full drink and a good one at that.) 2. His ribeye was WAY too salty, I mean ridiculously so. 3. The above mentioned corporate groups had so many steak orders, that the entire downstairs dining room became a smoke pit. So bad that the manager was going around to each table apologizing. 4. My fried chicken was merely ~meh~. I like KFC's better. For real. I substituted mac & cheese for the mashed potatoes but the green beans were as limp as....... As always, their biscuit and cornbread basket was my favorite. Their baked goods are off the chain and thankfully filled me up. Writing this is bumming me out, so I'm done. That's all.

Sat down at the bar with 2 of my buddies and it looked like we were the only patrons in the place. Bruno's serves up some of the coldest beer that I have tasted in San Francisco. Bartender kept us laughing by giving us her best dirty jokes and some crazy stories. The menu is the exact same as Harry's on Filmore(Same owners). Therefore, you should get the Kobe burger or the Kobe Killer burger.
