I went to Vessel on a Thursday night and was greatly disappointed by the crowd and music. My roommate failed to inform us it was going to be house/trans music. The good thing about this place was the bouncer who was very friendly and did not have that stand-off attitude most bouncers have. However, the bartenders tell you different credit card minimums for drinks. One of my friends was told the minimum was $20 by a male bartender and my other friend got told it was $10 by the female bartender. Eh, that sounds sketch. One of my friends and I left after about 10 minutes and headed to Lefty O'Doul's. If you're in to trans music then this is the place to go on Thursdays. Plus by the time we got there, which was around midnight there was no cover charge =). That is always a plus.

Oooh Pure. A hoodrat's haven. ;) lol.jay kay! But seriously... haha, okay, okay..I'm done poking fun. This place is okay. I sometimes end up here after a long night of drinking and am in the mood to dance. There are 3 floors which is kinda nice. First floor is where all the married douche bags hang out. The ones that hit on you and as you're walking away they yank your chain by saying "I have an open tab". Ahhh the words EVERY girl on a drinking mission wants to hear. ;) Second floor is what I like to call the Wallflower Stage. Everybody just kinda stands there. It's where most of the shy, quieter peeps hang. The ones that don't like being pushed and shoved. Now, the third floor. The third floor is where all the action is. Dance floor, big bar...the DJ set up is on this floor. It's always jam packed and smells of armpitts. bleh! But when you're highly intoxicated, who really cares? It's fairly difficult to get a bartender's attn. on the third floor, so I say if you're getting a drink, make a trip to the second floor,...and if you're brave, make it to the first floor...might run into step dad. ;) To be fair, this place is quite fun, like I said..when you're drizzuuunk. :) Check it out, you may be more of a fan of it than I am.

The Cinch is a great neighborhood dive bar with just enough to please almost everyone. Just enough gay guys, just enough older guys, just enough faghags/fruitflies, just enough games. Drag and sometimes a semblance of a dance floor (to rock, however!) on Charlie Horse Fridays, always a great time. Strong drinks, friendly people. Not the place if you want to boogie or be strung out. But if you want mellow laidback atmosphere with friendly people, The Cinch is worth a try. (And remember it's a gay bar.)
