Over-priced and over-rated! I was SERIOUSLY disappointed in this place. I'd been wanting to try Biscuits & Blues for years...I'd read about it on various websites and loved the idea of Southern/Soul food with live blues...sounded divine, right? Wrong. My first clue to avoid this seriously over-rated place should've been that NO ONE I KNOW has ever mentioned going here and enjoying it. And I know a LOT of foodies. But I went here nonetheless, with my partner and several friends. We were having an early dinner before going to a show at a nearby venue, so hadn't planned on staying for the show at Biscuits & Blues. While the diningroom was practically empty (only one other party), it still took forever for our server to come over and take our orders for drinks. Which took a while to arrive at our table. We were starving, so we quickly ordered a basket of biscuits. When it arrived, I blinked: the biscuits were TINY!!! I also quickly discovered that they were dense and bland. Boo. They also came with a miniscule portion of honeybutter, which didn't seem to have any salt in it. Sigh. The prices were high, and I wasn't in the mood to pay $19 for fried chicken. So I decided to try the Southern Sampler appetizer platter, since it advertised "A generous sampler of corn & shrimp fritters, yam fries, mac and cheese croquettes, and two biscuits" all for only $17. I figured if it was generous, I could even share with my fellow diners! Boy, was I wrong :( When our food finally arrived (again, too long of a wait! We'd practically eaten the napkins by then!), I was shocked! This so-called "generous" portion looked like Rick Moranis had accidentally shrunk it with his electro-magnetic shrink ray!!! Two eensy weensy fritters the size of Trader Joe's frozen appetizer crab cakes, two painfully slim mac and cheese croquettes, and again, two minute, dense biscuits. I will concede that there was an ample amount of yam fries, at least as compared to the other portions. But wow. Seriously over-priced for what was essentially bar food! While the croquettes were tasty, the fritters were bland and soggy, a big (or should I say small!) disappointment. Even the kicked-up dipping sauces couldn't rescue them! The fries were good....but they were just fries...that's not special! Even Mickey D's can make those!!! Since I was still a little hungry, I decided to order dessert. After all, how could I resist the call of the Southern Chocolate Pecan Pie ($7) "flavored with Bourbon and served warm with house-made Whipped Cream"...this is what is known in some part s of the South as "Derby Pie", and one of my own specialties when I finally sit down and do some baking. So, needless to say, I was very excited at the prospect! They turned out to be two mini tarts (Of course. How could I have not seen it coming after all the other mini sets of two I'd experienced at B & B's that night! You'd think they were recreating a dollhouse size culinary Noah's Ark around there!!), which actually seemed like a reasonable dessert size. I took a bite, anticipating the warm, gooeyness....and FAIL. They were ICE COLD!!!! So much for "served warm"! And the flavor itself was soooooo sickenly over-sweet that they were unbearable to even eat!!! Now, I'm not the kind of girl who just up and walks away from most desserts, but this was a notable exception. By this point, the live music had started, some really awful folk-singer-with-a-guitar shyte, so we knew it was time to make a hasty exit. Too bad it took us another 15 min to finally track down our server and get the bill!! All said and done, my total, including tax and tip was just over $35. That's not a cheap dinner in general, but especially not when you have just been the recipient of seriously over-priced, under-whelming imposter-Southern-food. There was NO SOUL in this food, barely any flavor, and definitely no reason for me to ever come back. If you're looking for me, I'll be at Gussie's for the real deal...

The crab rangoon here are BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS the worst I've ever had. Everything else is just extremely ordinary. Not worth a trip or the expensive prices. The place is just overrated and the food is sub par at best. If you're craving Chinese food, the kind most Americans get the urge for, DEFINITELY look elsewhere. You won't be satisfied here.

Decent size place with a stage, cool crowd, only have Japanese beer My friends brought me to this place last week. We got there around like 11:40 PM on a Thursday. For some reason, there's a line of about 40 ppl in front of us, but when you get in, the place is relatively empty. It definitely helps if you know ppl cuz being on the guest list (which my friend some how trick the security by giving the same name as the people in front of us) doesn't mean much, we still waited 30 minutes outside. The good thing was it wasn't that cold that day. Once inside, you get to chill out in the cool lounge. There are seats on the left side and bunch of seats in the middle in front of the stage. The bar is to the right of the stage. The night I went, it started out quiet but the place kept on getting filled until there was a decent crowd. The girl to guy ratio is awesome. The music is very electronic 80ish, not what I'm used to. This is one of the few places where I give it a 4 star even though some people would give it a 3 due to the beer selection. They only have Japanese beers, that means, no Heineken, no Corona, etc. Good thing I know my Japanese beers (Asahi, Sapporo).
