what can i say about this place..... went there for lunch during a recent trip to Philadelphia wasn't expecting anything except grabbing a quick rice bowl before walking to liberty bell... The neon green glass door ruined my appetite to be honest however the interior design of the restaurant is the best ever cultural fusion I have ever experienced.. the stairs down to the restrooms with the bonsai trees simple but elegant and the same goes for the restrooms.. i want that kind of design for my house! as for the food my friend ordered salmon soba while I had the chicken katsu lunch set... and I couldn't resist and indulge ourselves by ordering nigiri sushi by the piece. we ordered: kasutera, shima aji, kohada, mirugai, aoyagi, and engawa... sushi chef thought the aoyagi was too small so gave us taragai on the house and the same goes for engawa when they gave us hirame with it.... to be honest I don't think words can describe how the sushi tasted the space between the rice was impeccable the balance between the rice and fish was perfect. the seafood was extremely fresh the restaurant can definitely rival its peers in Azabu, Tokyo (where I had my best sushi experience ever) as for the hot food the chicken katsu don is just more than I was looking for the sauce was just about right not overpowering, the chicken was breaded with homemade panko fried superbly. If I have to complain it would be the texture of the soba and the dressing for the salad in the lunch set, which was just pure ponzu.. overall a great experience!!!

This is a great local, low-key bar. The intimate dance floor is just the right size. Perfect for shakin that bootie on weekends when the dj's are playing and perfect for Rock Band Night every Sunday. They set up the "Rock Band" game on the dance floor and have a competition...It's a super fun thing to do on a Sunday and you don't need any experience playing Rock Band to participate. The host, Owen Bondurant will hold your hand and teach you how to rock it!

Drinks: 3 Stars Decor: 3 Stars Crowd: 3 Stars View: Freaking 5 Stars! Service: 5 Stars to the good gentlemen who never kept me waiting. So the frying pan is actually one of those little boats (almost looks like the little tug boat from childen's books) and the huge barge behind it is called something else but you can easily move btwn the 2. Let me say the view is freaking AWESOME!!! Clear, unobstructed view on the Hudson. You also forget you're in the city for a sec. Something about actually being on the water. You can't beat it for the price of drinks short of being on the Staten Island ferry or something like that. Decor flat/barge shabby/chic. Plastic chairs & tables abound but, I guess it's understandable. Everything was authentically aged. (Take that as you may) Crowd was very collegiate/frat boyish. I'm just too old for crowds like that! Bartenders were excellent! Never had to wait too long before someone magically & speedily replaced my empty drink. Drinks themselves - Average. IT's not a real bar so you can't blame the bartenders. Drinks that you'd expect at an open bar but, still they do come fast. Overall, great if you're younger than 25 and "Burp Castle" is where you'd celebrate your birthday. But, there is something to be said of the views and bartenders. Too bad the ever-so-slight swaying of the boat was making me a little sick.
