I love children, but sometimes I want to peacefully focus on the science exhibits and at this weekly event you can do it with a cocktail, wine or beer in hand. Plus the entry fee is half the price of the daytime rate (which I think is too high). Why hang out with your friends on a Thursday night in a cramped little bar when you can do it in world-class architecture with easy parking? And it seems like a great way for the academy to bring in extra money for research and education. The only thing missing from the event for me was some live music. Most of the new features of the museum are improvements over the old set up. I just have a few questions that have not been answered: What happened to the stuffed coelacanth? Why is the evolution exhibit so much less effective than the old one? What happened to the live lung fish from the evolution exhibit? What happened to the Orca fountain?
by Trina M. on I noticed the rating on this place is either you hate it or you love it. Weriddd~ Well luckily I enjoyed my night here lol so whoa ho ~! My friends and I got in without a problem, got our coats checked and went straight to the bar lol Bar service was fast and efficient. Soon after a few drinks we hit the dance floor. The dance floor is definitely huge and spacious with 1 Trapeze dancer and 2 gogo dancers the night we went and of course the crowd was mainly Koreans ahaha no brainer...it is a korean club after all XP They were playing the lastest Hip Hop , K-Pop and House and of course, when House started playing I stood there like an idoit =( ahahah off to the bar we go ! ahahah =x OMG ~!! Saw one of the hottest guy here !! ahahha Drools ~ he so fiinneee~ ahahah =x BTW while my date and I were dancing, why did this one guy just stood there in front of us a good portion of the night just staring at us wile we were dancing? o.O creepy~ All and in all, had a fun night hehe ^___^ Q: why can't we have korean clubs in SF? =( sniffle sniffle
by Sherie Goswami on Sunday brunch is the bomb! if you want to stuff your face with mediocre mexican food (great by gringo standard) and laugh your ass off at mexican karaoke, then this place is your place. enchiladas, off key singing, margaritas, fresh corn tortillas. a winning combination. come for food, stay for the karaoke. songs in both english and spanish. although it seems that more spanish is played. i get pissed sometimes when the parents put their kids up though. no one else thinks its cute that your kid knows the chorus to opps i did it again. I saw a little girl eat it to a selena song and just felt sorry for the kid all the while some mike hoggin lady was giving the little girl a stink eye because the little girl didn't get a single word to the song until the chorus came up. try the nopales and ribs. mmmm. ceviche is decent too.
