Another amazing Texas BBQ location This place is famous and definitely does not need another review to tell anyone they are great...but this is rateclubs and i will review anyway =) When my friends and I first pulled into the rocky parking lot miles outside of downtown Austin, you can tell they do BBQ on a large scale. The place was very large. The day we went, there were about 100 bikers pig in out in the party pavilion just outside the main restaurant...pretty cool site. As soon as you walk in you see the most amazing site...an open pit of meat and sausage smoking the front of the house up. Its unreal. The side dishes were all to die for and the brisket was insanely good. So so so tender that it would melt in your mouth. They have some of the best BBQ sauce around as well, very unique sauce. I thought the ribs were just ok. They do sausage and brisket the best. If you can actually fit dessert in...which is not easy to do, they make some great homemade pies to bust your stomach wide open. A plus in my book. Bring cash, they do not take credit cards, an ATM is just inside the front door but who wants to pay a service fee.

There comes a time in everyone's life when signs of old age are unwittingly bequeathed upon us. We notice this when our joints begin to creek, muscles hurt for no particular reason, and a game such as bowling or softball leaves us sore for days. When this time arrives, most of us tend to sigh and admit defeat while others feverishly deny it by saying "I used to be able to (Insert amazing feat of superhuman abilities here)." Your crows feet do not lie. Being able to do something in the past admits you can't perform the same thing now. You're old. And you go to the Starlight Room. The music varies from 70s-80s to hip hop, trip hop, rock, and lounge music. Everything can be played except any music above 80 bpm which would undoubtedly explode any hearing devices some patrons wear and cause hip replacement surgery cases  to sky rocket. Proof this place is old? During Wednesday night Indulgence, the fire department is there partaking in the festivities wearing full uniform. You can't fool me. Underneath that jacket hides a defribillator. I see the hump. And those lovely lady lumps from the Go-Go dancers. http://www.youtube.com...I even took a video because one day I'll be too old to remember what I had for lunch. A varied crowd from the freshly graduated "I want to grow up but can't really afford the $10 vodka/cranberry" to the "I need a cane to get to the dance floor" comes mixed in a unique combination of random chaos theory. The great thing is that it works. Everybody's got a place in the Starlight Room. The 3 room areas are spacious, the view from the top of the Sir Francis Drake is breathtaking, and during the holiday season, Macy's lightshow is visible and adds to the ambiance by reflecting cool Christmas light patterns off the disco ball. That is, if can remember it...

i really wasn't impressed with this place.... the website made it look awesome, but ehhh..... luckily we didn't have to wait in line because  a friend knew the promoter... its not a bad venue but it was packed and you could hardly even move around.... the drinks are OK... the girls dancing were pretty cool, but they had these huge televisions and i am not quite sure if it was the news or a cell phone commercial that was on repeat.... seriously, why would you want to watch either one.... my friends and i peaced out of there pretty quick...  I'm sure it would be fun for some people, but there was barely room to move around and there are definitely other cool places in the area to go to
