by Eva D. on I don't get the people who say it's hard to get in here... It was a Saturday night around midnight when we arrived at hwood. I was with my girl and our boy. The only line was a group of about five people who were all on their cellphones, presumably to contact someone to get them in. We patiently waited behind them for about five minutes when we realized that the 3 (yes three) door people were just completely ignoring them. My girl rolled up to the rope said something like "can we go in now?" The door guy immediately unclipped the rope told our boy that he had to pay 20 bux and let us in... Once in: even though the club was packed the bartenders were swift and polite. In fact so swift that I got drunker than I already was in about five minutes flat. The music downstairs was totally random. one minute house, then classic rock, then top 40, I think I may have heard country once, but see above. The music upstairs was consistently dance friendly hiphop. However the dance floor was SO packed the only dancing you could do was sort of a sway between sweaty bodies. Not pleasant. Also.. I like guys, but this club seemed to have been heavy on the dudes. Who always seem sweatier and grosser than girls. Overall.. I say: not bad. plus points for good service, I'm a sucker for that.
by Carolyn B. on Let me explain... I give the Clermont 4 stars because I was not disappointed. The Clermont lived up to it's reputation and everything I thought I was going to get, I received that and then some. My first strip club experience and man was it an experience. The outside looks shabby and run down and the inside does not disappoint. The interior is just as dusty and dingy as it's exterior. If I was grading on what I saw once I entered the hot, musty doors of the Clermont, I would have to roll over into the negatives. Although the lap dance I witness was good entertainment, it was also gross on so many levels, =( I saw WAY too much of some the women there, and honestly stripping passed a certain age should be illegal. I give the Clermont 4 stars because I had a great time (once I dug out my eyes, and remembered that I have a mind eraser at home), if you haven't experienced it yet, you definitely should...but honestly I'll never go again.
by Holley Fracasso on This place was cool. Dance shows were good, not awesome. They should get the Cirque Du Soleil people and let those fuckers go rampant. That would be a grand show. I'm very good looking and so was the gal I was with- so naturally the doorman knew to let me right in. I mean I'm so good looking and so are my friends that door policy's don't mean shit to me. The people who worked here kinda thought they were to cool. Place will be empty in a few more months once the cool kids stop going and the upper west siders start coming. But that's NYC, hot 1 day, next day, no one wants to know ya!!! So all the people who turned you away will be looking for another job, some will end up at bed bath and beyond, finding me new sheets. Drinks were good but took a while for the bartender to see me, he must have been straight, cause im so good looking that gay gays and female bartenders love me. Sorry I keep mentioning how good looking I am, its just that it matter what you look like and how rich you are in NYC night life. Rich I'm not, but I still like col spaces.
