I love Manor West. The service is amazing, the venue is beautiful and has a Chicago style feel. Service: The team at Manor West is fantastic. Friendly, helpful and always looking out for their customers. The bartenders mix great drinks and are quick with their service. Additionally they know who has been waiting and don't just serve all the hot girls first....although I wish they would! VIP and Table service is great. You have a prime view of the dance floor and an elevated area that still lets you feel like you are in the mix of things. Crowd: A fun, hot upbeat crowd that dresses to impress and loves to dance. Everyone that whines about not getting into Manor West might just have not been up to dress code. I appreciate a club that uses discretion when it comes to allowing people inside. That way I know that I'm safe from sketchy club rats and hoodlums. Venue: A big open space with booths lining one wall. I love the fact that the dance floor is long and deep - makes it feel like the dancing people go on forever! Music is fun and danceable mix of hip-hop, pop and classic house. Lighting creates atmosphere and still lets you be able to see what someone really looks like when dancing with them. Private Events: I threw a private event here during the week and it was the perfect Venue. The service was impeccable and everyone had a great time. We brought the lights up a bit and played background music which was perfect for our networking and mingling!

The conversation between my boyfriend and myself went a little something like this: Him: "This place looks like it was crapped out by Stanley Kubrick." Me: "It is quite modern..." Him: "It reminds me of 2001...or was it 2010?" Me: "2001" Him: "Yeah, have you seen it?" Me: "No, but it's on my list. How's your drink?" Him: "Pretty good. The beds are cool but their linen prices must be ridiculous with all of this white everywhere." Me: "Maybe it's more like Kubrick's wet dream. Is it getting darker in here?" Him: "They keep changing the lighting." Me: "That wall was purple and now it's blue!" Him: "I know, they keep changing the lighting." Me: "I don't think I like the art on the walls." Him: "Eh." Me: "These drink trays are surprisingly sturdy." Him: "Are you thinking about reviewing later or what?" Me: "I am not addicted to rateclub." Him: ... Me: "Shut up and sit on your corner of the bed." (note: parts of this conversation were fabricated for review purposes, but all the details of the environment are true.)

First time finding the place was a pain, especially in hollywood traffic. If you happen to miss the place, you'd have to circle around again .. and to find parking .. yea ... if you're not familiar with the area, you wouldn't know where to park in the first place. The club is a big 'ol warehouse feel. They do have two rooms and two bars I believe. They also have an outdoor smoking area thats pretty spacey and nice to lounge around for the smokers who need a smoke break. The outside of the room is lined up with tables and little booths. They also have platforms for all the go go dancers to shake what their momma gave them, or what the doctors made. The club go'ers are usually Asian, or do I end up going on Asian nights? Although they do have other nights .. one time I went and it was like techno/trance night =) so yes .. it's not all just hip hop. The main room spins hip hop/top 40 while the other smaller room, also with a smaller bar, spins techno/trance. This room also have little cute chairs/tables. And is a lot less crowded since not a lot of people tend to dance to techno/trance. Although I find anybody can shake anything when they're drunk, haha. Nice place. Definitely worth a trip once in a while from southbay area once in a blue moon. But $20 bucks for entrance? I don't think any club is worth that much, in my opinion.
