by Jae Czachor on Egads! The first time I went to Whole Foods I didn't realize I was parking in a garage UNDER the store. Imagine my fascination when I discovered I was riding an escalator up into the store: super cool! Then Britt Daniels walked right past me! Then people everywhere were demanding I try free, delectable goodies! I never wanted to leave! Or maybe I died and went to grocery heaven! Whatever the case, I found it rather difficult to decide just what one of the many many different choices in lunch I would go with. It's daunting to have so many fantastic choices in front of you, but this is just what keeps me coming back. The grocery selection is wonderful and I love the feeling of a big supermarket. The staff is always friendly, and I love that I can take my food purchase out on the rooftop, overlook downtown Austin, and just enjoy the weather. Whole Foods, you are loved.
by Mike on It's always a treat to go to the Sugar Bar. Nick and Val are the most gracious hosts there are. The food is very tasty and the staff is at your beck and call. The music is outstanding. But what would you expect from these world class entertainers. If I weren't so stage frightened, I'd get up sing along during their Open Mike on Thursday night. Lastly, the band is fantastic. Five stars!

I'm not big on the bars/clubs in SF so I was a bit skeptical - especially when walking in and seeing how small and cramped it was. However, never judge a book by its cover - the bartenders were fast and efficient (says the boys who bought our drinks). I only had a glass of their Sangria while everyone was downing drinks and shots but my sangria was (I hate to use this word) yummy! I liked the music they were playing and it was easy to dance too - even though it was crowded inside, everyone made room when the bunch of us came into dance. I'll come by when we are up here again.
by Anton Cantarella on ECCO is a European style restaurant. They have a small but select menu. The starters with cheese and meat cuts are a real treat. Be careful the dishes are pretty large but very good. The Pizzas are good but the main dishes are even better. The restaurant has a fantastic wine collection. Be aware that not all waiters might know the full details of the wine card. Overall a great place that is relatively quiet. Excellent for dates.
