by Ryan M. on The interior of this place is beautiful! First time I went here to see a friend of a friend in a burlesque show. It was during the week and many of the patrons came dressed for the period. Second time I came here for dinner on a weekend night. The food was decent but service was a bit slow. Most of the food is small plates but there is a small selection of entrees. I tried several of the speciality cocktails. My favorite was "The Edison".
by david l. on I like this place, they play good music and the crowd is not ghetto. I would give it more stars but $20 bucks for cover is not worth paying like some people said before is cool if u dont pay cover. The girls there are usually nice and the dudes are not looking for fights like in many other places.
by Isaias Updegraff on I must write a review about the place I frequent the most. I live down the street and love Icon. As I have said before, I am starting to like the smaller loungey spots in the city. Its something about the huge, dangerous, inconsistent nightclub scene that I dont like anymore. Icon has a lot of personality along with an upscale decor. The bartenders even hooked me up with a couple drinks. They have "love it wednesdays", a house and techno party, usually with a headliner (i.e. MIA from Berlin) , and an industry Tuesday party , i think called Suspect Tuesdays. I dont think theres better weekday parties you can find in the city with a consistent mixed crowd. I've also been here many times on Saturdays which is usually hip hop and dance music , a little like the Cellar , but better. On Saturday @ Icon you may hear a song from Bel,Biv, Devoe(old school) to Kanye West (new school) to Shaggy (reggae) . Pluses: - Really Nice Staff (I nominate them for Best Looking Staff award ;P ) - 2 Dance Floors, 2 bars, Bottle Service tables, Free guestlist on their Website. - Ease of parking (although I live right down the street) - Great Music - always a good mixed , diverse crowd. - sightings of Baron Davis have been reported there... Minuses: - 2 bathrooms for ladies. - nothing on Mondays? lol
