Okay, so let's get to the point. I like MyHouse a lot, and so far it's been my venue of choice in LA. Lines -- the lines are erratic and illogical. I've been here three times, twice on the guestlist to a birthday party and I've gotta say managing to get yourself on the guest list or a table cuts the wait time substantially. Drinks -- bartenders provide quick and efficient service. Drinks are moderately strong. Nothing special though, so three stars here. Ambience/Crowd -- Tasteful interior design. Dance floor is on the small side, but the furniture and decor are way more sophisticated in style than most other LA clubs. The place also dominantly attracts the Asian crowd, for sure. Music -- DJ usually plays top 40s, also throws in some popular electro-house. Love. Conclusion -- It's a tasteful venue, a well-dressed crowd, fun all around ;)

NO STARS. My reviews start with the plusses and end with the minuses. There are no plusses here. Went Friday, June 19th to see Quest, a dance group, perform. 1. GHETTO SITE. Luckily found metered parking and trudged through the urinated streets to the dingy facade where we skipped the main line and got to the cashier by 10:15pm. 2. GUEST LIST IS A HOAX!!! The Asian chick says the list "closed at 10:30 pm" Well it was 10:25 pm but she couldn't be bothered with that technicality. Funny it doesn't jive with the stupid emails that Suite 181 sends to encourage everyone to sign up on the guest list to get free entry if in by 11:00 pm. Basically there is NO FREE Guest Pass and good luck on getting your name off the distribution list. 3. CRIMINAL COVER CHARGES. The other Asian girl co-hort charged us $20 each to gain entry. Funny they can't tell time or read numbers. The cash register rang $15 but she still demanded $20. Fix your register or learn to read numbers. 4. SOUND IS POOR. All those people on the dance floor--what beat did you exactly hear? 5. DEAD CROWD. That night maybe was off. Just maybe. But worse the crowd disrespected the special guests for that night. Maybe we were all tired of waiting for them to appear which was 1:15 AM! 6. VIP SECTION. Not cool. Smacked in the middle of the floor and really nothing to see except a bunch of wannabe's that don't even have style. 7. LAME CROWD. Sounds like #5 but really it was lame. Very young crowd if you're into that. I can't give ZIP STARS so I guess that one star--well, it's a dust particle of a star. SUITE 181 is a sour place to hang. Just don't.

I've been to Yoshi's Oakland 6,000 times. I'm human furniture there. Bambi & I did dinner and a show at the SF Yoshi's on this date. Restaurant architecture is modern splendor. Very sophisticated. The restaurant is large open, well staffed. We ate Japanese-accented Euro food. We had warm salad, miso, vegetable tempura, black cod, roast chicken, two desserts, 2 glasses of wine. The food was excellent, the portions were tiny. The wine selection is decent. The prices are top shelf. Our modest dinner was $200. I feel sort'a ripped off for that amount. I left hungry. Jazz club closely resembles the Oakland room. This auditorium is a bit more modern looking. Also has an upstairs balcony that you enter from the bar area outside. The room is just as crowded and cramped as the Oakland room. We shared a tiny table with strangers who practically sat in our laps. Audiophile news: The sound system is not as natural as the Oakland Yoshi's. The tone was boxy & cardboard sounding. I'm sure that a more talented sound engineer could E.Q. the room better. As many other reviewers noted, the audience here does NOT respect the performers like the usual quiet Oakland Yoshi's crowd. I had a group of young party girls behind me who were drunk & loud during the quiet performance. I shushed them too many times. "Hey dumb bitches, if you wanna party hardy, take it to the Boom-boom room down the street". Yoshi's is very good. But, Next time I'll eat in a Japantown restaurant and save $120.
