This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Whenever I read rateclub reviews, I almost always disregard what reviewers have to say about service, because for me, food is most important, and I can tolerate a lot of bad service. But, at Sugar Cafe, the service was so bad, inept, understaffed, and rude, that it ruined my meal. We arrived for brunch on a Saturday and stood in line for a good 20 minutes to get our order taken. Then, we waited over 45 minutes to get our very simple order: a sandwich and a breakfast egg plate. Then, we got our order, and it was missing lots of items (only had sausage and crab cake, the latter which we paid extra for; but no eggs, no toast, no potatoes). We informed the server, who was unapologetic and initially challenged us abut whether we ordered those items, even though it was the cashier who had entered the order wrong. When we said we had been waiting a good 60 minutes now for our food, she said that she wasn't even supposed to be working that day (how's that relevant?). After another 20 minutes of waiting, we got the eggs and toast, but no potatoes. We were too fed up by then to wait another half hour on potatoes. The food itself was totally mediocre, and we couldn't even enjoy its mediocrity because of the horrendous service. The people who run this place clearly don't care enough to staff enough workers to deal with the demand, and obviously don't pay the workers enough to pretend to be courteous to customers. You couldn't pay me money to return.

Excellent. Period. End of Sentence. Some people on here talk about unattentive service. Huh? I have been here close to 20 times and the service was exceptional and friendly every time. Most of the servers here are old school pros...several formerly from Sushi Huku. So when someone questions the service, it makes me want to question the questioner. And the fish has been incredibly fresh and creatively presented every single time. Like Soto, but different, if you know what I'm saying, and I'm sure some of you actually do. This is the best sushi restaurant in Atlanta at the moment. Period. End of Sentence.
