Again during my visit to Avenue A (not New York... I really need to venture out of my 8 block radius next time), I found myself on more than one occasion beating the beat within the friendly confines of Ella. Yet another slick dance hall with two identities: an upstairs area for kids hopped up on the Devil's dandruff to boogie the night away to hip hop and electronic music, and a downstairs haunt for anything from live MCs, hipster Macbook Pro bands, or even a nifty space for private gatherings. It was a Thursday and a Saturday night that I had the pleasure of popping in, and both times were completely asses to elbows. I felt a bit like a pinball and I secretly wished there was some kind of high score to accumulate from bouncing off of every surface and body in the joint to afford me a free can of Schlitz or something. Sadly wasn't the case. If I were a creepier guy, I'd have probably gotten off on all of the different people I had to feel up just to squeeze my way towards the bar and restroom, but lucky for those in attendance, I'm the patron saint of good manners. Drinks were reasonably priced, and while a bit disinterested, I suppose the bouncers were friendly enough ushering in the hordes of 20 and 30 somethings looking to get weird on a weekend.

Great venue! Saw caribou there and the space and the crowd was great. Plenty of dancing rooms since many hipsters only dance with their head. Only complaint.... $7 miller lite? They didn't check my bag though, should've flasked it. And I'm back to rateclubsing after a 4 year break..... yayayayayayaayaya

Webster hall sucks. Wont waste no money to go in there or drink there. This place is under new management, they remodel the place added some couches, raised the drink prices, now its alot harder to get in.
