A friend and I ate at BPP this past Saturday evening. We got there and had to wait in line for a few minutes, but it wasn't too bad because that gave us time to decide what we wanted. I opted for the Bobby Blue burger and a side of sweet potato fries. The guy at the counter was very friendly as he took our orders. After paying and getting our drinks, we sat down and waited for our food. As we waited, one of the employees came over and pleasantly welcomed us to the restaurant. The waitress who brought our burgers was also very friendly, and she told us to let her know if we needed anything. Ok, now on to the burger. That thing was delicious! It was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of bleu cheese, bacon and red onion. In fact, I didn't even have to put any ketchup on it, which is pretty much unheard of for me. The fries were also really good, and the mustard they came with complimented them well. As we were eating the line got REALLY long, which says a lot. You can get a burger anywhere, but this place is good enough that you don't really mind waiting in line. All in all, I had a great experience, and I will absolutely be going back to BPP in the very near future.

I stumbled across The Park while attending a conference at nearby Chelsea Piers. I had to get away from the crowd so took a walk around the neighborhood looking for something to eat. It was a nice day so the windows and doors were thrown open and the place looked so inviting. I sat out on the terrace and it was one of the cutest patio spots I've seen. Everyone from the hostess to the waiter to the water guy was so friendly. I can't comment too much on the food because I ordered a chicken caesar salad and cheesecake and they were both average. But the bread was great and overall the place was just so charming it outweighed any of the food negatives.

I've seen three or four shows here. Two of them were Quetzal, which is an amazing group; you really should see them one day. I don't remember what the other one or two shows were. Ozomatli maybe? Anyway, I like this place, although it makes me sad. Maybe it's because it seemed like there should have been more people there. Or maybe it's because it reminded me of a certain church hall that is depressing to me to this day. As far as a place to catch a show, it's decent. It won't blow you away, but it's also not crappy or designed stupidly like so many music venues are.
