by Sarah I. on I really have nothing negative to say about Bootie. I stopped going to clubs years ago but that all changed when I discovered Bootie. Sure it's dirty and dingy, but it gets so packed in there, who really notices the floor? The staff at the door and coat check are super friendly. They don't make you wait outside for no reason and don't give you attitude about two coats on one hangar ;) The best part about Bootie is the crowd and music. The mashups are amazing and the crowd is super diverse and friendly. You really cant find this atmosphere at other venues in SF. I was wasted upon arrival so I didn't buy any drinks from the bar. I am sure the bartenders were fantastic as well though. There is a $12 cover which is lame.
by Michael B. on I started my night here around 9PM on a Friday. It was easy to get a spot at the bar and hang out with a friend while waited for others to join up. The drinks were good for the $10-$15 top shelf margaritas. It looks like a cool place to have dinner as long as your not in a rush. I would definitely suggest reservations if you want to have dinner. I'm curious to see what it looks like later on at night.
by Armandina Bilal on Fantastic place to see a show. I went last night for the first time in about a year and a half. I forgot how much I liked Bimbo's. The opening act, Notorious, was super fun playing 80's through current hits. They really got the crowd going and I felt like they were having fun too. (the guitar player... rawr!) The headliner was Super Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute band. Not exactly my cup of tea but those guys are totally pro. I've seen acts over the years from They Might Be Giants to Robin Williams doing stand-up. I always enjoy myself. Well, except when I'm trying to find parking which is ridiculous to say the least. I definitely appreciate the coat check, the attendant in the restrooms and the cash only situation at the bar. It's a good way to keep in check. Beware of the security staff. They are pretty strict about photos. Fun times.
