They play great mashups all night! I've been here a few times including this past Halloween. The line was ridiculous to get in...the general admission line wrapped around the corner of the building. Luckily, they had presale tickets online and the line wasn't nearly as bad. Inside it was packed...as was expected for Halloween at a club. Bootie is fun any weekend. Love the live mashup band and the fact that you don't have to get dolled up to get in. Drinks are strong, but pricey and they only take cash so be prepared.

Came here on a Saturday night, 9/18/10. Line: we lucked out and a friend had already got tickets for us, so we avoided the line (looked to be about 50 long) Drinks: was pretty easy to access the bars and get a drink. No complaints here. Oh wait, avoid asking for the cheapest tequila shot... it was like drinking acid. Venue: I really liked the layout. There's the main dance floor, and the dj booth in front. You can stand on the 2nd floor and look down at the crowd, which was reminiscent of a college frat party. If you walk through that crowd, you'll want to shower after though - the smell of sweat and ass definitely brought me back to the college days. Music: I guess Saturdays its called "Bootie SF?" I have to throw up my hands and make a heart shape to the DJs that night. Even if the mashup didn't work, it was interesting throughout the night. But believe me, the mashups were more often successful than not. I'd definitely come back for the music.. Which brings me to... Crowd: It was a very... eclectic group of people who congregated for the night. I... am at a loss for words actually. I wouldn't come here if I was trying to hit up girls -- I'll stick to Vegas and some LA clubs for that. Um, the people were interesting. Very interesting. So I'm a fan. I really liked the music, and the place had good vibes. No asshole bouncers either. I'd come back for some mashups!

Being really into tradition & simultaneously a Jew in NY every Christmas, have taken to a Midtown hotel pub crawl of sorts each Dec. 25. First stop is King Cole Bar. Yes, the bill is always $250 for 8 drinks, but such is tradition. This year service seemed pretty suboptimal, but trying not to let it tarnish my Christmas cheer. I always loved in the past that when I ordered a mixed drink it was the alcohol, a splash of the mixer & then they leave the rest of the coke or ginger ale or whatever to add on your own to perfection. This year not so much - bartender mixed the full drink. I gorge on the wasabi peas & watch the tourists, so all was well. Oh, and the mural.
