Fuuuuuuck this place. I came here on a saturday night with my friends....there were 3 girls and 4 boys and the imbecile bouncer wouldnt let us in because we needed one more girl to even out the number of guys. WTF IS THAT!?!? So we tried to pull a girl off the street just to come in with us and the bouncer said we "shouldnt make it so obvious." We even offered to make out but noooo he wouldn't budge! Whatever dude....get over your power trip...your short and lame, and how did you get this job in the first place!?.... we dont need your shitty club. Eventually we got kicked out without acutally being let in. Sucks too cuz I really wanted to go down the slide :(

Death to superclubs, and make more places like Fluid. As an out-of-towner, I had a good time there. Saw Derrick Carter this past Friday for a couple of hours after work and had a blast. The cover was $10 bucks which was a welcome change vs what you would pay in other cities. The dancefloor was great, the bar was packed...coat check was a longer line than to get a beer. And kudos for the great priced drinks as well.

My roommate and I found this place on accident the first night we tried to go to the Texas Chili Parlor (only to find they close the kitchen at 11pm on Sundays). After being denied delicious chili, we didn't want to waste the trip downtown so we decided to find somewhere to eat that was still open. I knew Kerbey Lane on Guadalupe was open, so we headed in that direction. On the way there we saw Players and I suggested it because it looked open and we had nothing to lose. What the hell, right? One of the best on the fly decisions I have ever made. The food is cheap and delicious (a little greasy, but much better than nationwide chain fast food chain burger). The player's combo is about 5.50 and comes with a hamburger (add cheese for about 50 cents more), a basket of fries, and a soda. And ZOMG THEY HAVE PEBBLE ICE! No one has pebble ice any more. It cools your drink the fastest and it's mega nostalgic. I even think their coke tastes better than most places. The mix is great. The decor looks like it's been the same since the place opened, although I have no idea how old it is, so I can't be sure. The noise from the TV can be a little annoying, and seems to be lower the closer to the TV you sit. The cashier was the same both times I came, and he doesn't take crap from punks. Some kid tried to steal soda by asking for a water cup and then sneaking some coke, but the cashier saw him and called him on it. Very amusing. Some day I'll have to drink here.
