by josie p. on I'm a fan of everything about this place- the food, the wine, the beats, the ambiance... everything! It's intimate, yet happening & the dj usually plays an intriguing assortment of music on the weekends. I love the hummus app, as well as the salad, but I really think it's the sweet, vanilla-y dressing that makes it. I eat chicken & fish, but the tofu entree here is surprisingly tasty! Ohhh & the pizzas are great for late night noshes. All in all, a sexy & inspired date night joint, but definitely try to make reservations, as the place is quite small.
by Lurline Sobeski on Small, tiny, not big. Just a few words to describe the size of Rouge. Being so small, Rouge gets very crowded, but like other clubs that are big, that's not a good thing. I have never been so annoyed by drunk people bumping into me. It gets so crowded that if your at the dance floor and your trying to make your way to the front. It's better to walk out the exit and come in from the entrance. I have never felt so annoyed by people bumping into me as I did at Rouge. Like most people have said, the crowd is more Asian than anything. I read one of the manager's reviews here on rateclubs that he controls the crowd diversity on Saturday nights. Will..he must have not been working on the night I went there because it was mostly Asian. The DJ started off pretty well, but, near the end of the night, he started dying off. I don't know if he started running out of songs to play or what but he was losing steam. If you can get on the guest list by 11 and get in for free, then go ahead and check out the small, crowded place for yourself, BUT i would NEVER pay $20 to get into Rouge... I wouldn't even pay $5. I was also here on a Friday night and the place was completely empty at 11:30. Save your money and time, and go somewhere else..I really don't like this place..
by Jonas S. on Had a great time at bootie earlier this month. It had been too long since I last went out clubbing so I was definitely in the mood to get some dancing done, bootie turned out to be an excellent place to do it. I hadn't heard about mash-up music before, but it is awesome. Especially when both of the songs combined were ones you've grown up with and knew the words to. On top of that the club was packed enough that there were no empty spots on the dance floor (or, once the band had packed up, on stage), but not so packed that you couldn't move. Be aware though, the great time at this club might put you in a state of mind where you end up having way more fun than you had originally planned. Which of course is not a bad thing in any way. The only downside is that it's just once a month. Who wants to wait that long before going again?
