THIS IS MORE LIKE IT! Guest list. VIP. "Right this way!" All access wristbands. Free alcohol. Fabulous looking people looking at me in jealousy because I got in wearing jeans and sandals. YES! That's what I call fabulosity. I have big plans for shutting this place down after I become a kazillionaire. Inviting my friends to come lounge on the chocolate couches. Grooving by a better DJ than the one that was there Wednesday. Flirting with cute boys at one of the fall bars. Making eyes at some dude while I'm in line for the bathroom. Going back and forth from the velvet rope as I please. Yeah. I got it like that. Marquee is only to be enjoyed without the 20 dollar cover. It's a beautiful space. Get on a list. Then get the hottie over there to buy you a drink. Otherwise, there are better clubs with more diversity and less pretension.

Rating for the venue itself since we missed out on our dinner reservation due to the horrid weather conditions but got to see Chris Botti perform. I've been to Yoshi's in Oakland a number of times, and in comparison, the Yoshi's SF  is much nicer and larger, but at the expense of being less intimate and more commercial. Because of its new-ness, Yoshi's SF lacks character and reminds me of just another brand new movie theater complex. Unless its big-name musicians like Chris Botti or Diana Krall performing (or an artist you absolutely love to see live), I'm not sure if it is worth checking out Yoshi's. You're likely to dish out a lot of money in concert tickets, food, drinks, etc. and that intimate feeling with the music and musicians will likely not be there. In that case, you're better off in one of the smaller, low-key venues. Hopefully over time, Yoshi's SF will build some character. I still enjoy the set-up -- a semi-small venue that lets you eat and drink while you enjoy live music -- can't beat that! The seating arrangements are still not great (but comes with the territory) - it's pretty tight and can get claustrophobic at times since the waiters seem to need a lot of space to navigate and serve the audience. Hopefully my next visit will leave me with a stronger impression.

Pros: Location, hip atmosphere, bar scene, twentysomething crowd Cons: Not as new as Chelsea Piers lanes, Crowded, long waits, and pricey.
