I think the Blackened Tilapia or the Spicy Mango Shrimp dish is the way to go here. I have ordered both on multiple occasions & have never left disappointed. The interior of Cafe Circa is spot on... hardwood floors, dramatic curtains, dark wood, etc & they seem to draw an eclectic crowd from all walks of life, which I enjoy... makes for excellent people watching, if nothing else! The service always seems ever-so-slightly off to me & they notoriously are out of some wine, some vodka, or some drink item we've ordered. All in all, it's a great place to start or end an evening with that special someone, especially if you're there on one of the evenings with live jazz... perfect for setting the mood!

S'allright...but I only go there to watch playoff basketball or if it's someone's fave place to play pool. Pluses: Big screens, friendly service, good beer selection (Blue Moon & Fat Tire!!!), decent food for a sports bar. Minuses: Conventioneers, cheesy dance crowd, poor food quality to expense ratio.

A few of us went to meet up with some other girlfriends of ours on opening night. When we got there we saw this long line, and were saddened, because we hate waiting, ESPECIALLY when it was so cold out! Tried out luck at the front, the bouncer was really nice and while he was working the main line he asked another of the bouncers to take care of us. He turned to us, and wa la...we were granted entry. Boy was I glad we decided to bypass that crazy line and try our luck! Once inside, we all agreed that the place was swanky...but it was packed! I don't know where there's a dance floor though. The place isn't that big. VIP upstairs on the mezzanine, and then there is the downstairs, with standing room only and a few tables (which have to be reserved). I do have to say that none of us really were all that enthused about the music. Trans, house, electronica...one of those, I get them all confused. Why is that music so big in S.F. Can someone tell me why?? Anyway, it was a good time, but not good enough to get us to stay. We headed off after a little over an hour. Had the music been different we would have definitely lingered around a bit longer. P.S. Interesting art.
