Alfredo's is my favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta. The food and service are both very good and it's possible to eat well without breaking the bank (try the mussels) . Reservations are recommended but not always necessary if you're willing to gamble on what the wait might be. The building and location aren't the nicest in town but maybe that, combined with the atmosphere inside, are what draws people. You get the feeling that you'd be right at home if you like to sit with your back against the wall (if you know what I mean). This is helped by the decor, which includes pictures in the men's room of just about every movie and TV mafia character. Also, if you find yourself all dressed up with nowhere to go, Alfredo's has a nice bar for just sitting and enjoying a cocktail. They're open decently late on the weekends.

This is damn good sushi. It is a definitely a cut above all the other sushi joints I have been to in Atlanta. I think a place deserves 5 stars if you don't have anything bad to say about it. The restaurant was kind of small so my group had to leave and come back an hour later. You should definitely make a reservation if you decide to go to Hayakawa. The menu is also pricier than other Atlanta sushi places I have been to. We had several different appetizers which I don't remember the Japanese names to. Monk fish liver kicked ass. My friends and I all ordered sake which was served in a big cup and was poured generously. We also tried their Omikase which is pretty much a chef's course tasting menu for $65 per person. This includes an array of sushi salad, sashimi, nigiri, and tempura. Everything was fresh and exceptionally tasty. I rather enjoyed the sashimi scallops. Some of the highlights were mackerel and red snappers. I think I will try Omikase for the sashimi or sushi when I revisit Sushi House Hayakawa.

Last Friday was my second time going to this place. I enjoyed the show that I came to see with some fellow Rateclubers. It's nice when you can be four feet away from the band you like, and also not have your eardrums blasted out. I'm not a masochist. I don't like to have ringing ears for two days after a show. So in this way, I was very happy! Sea Wolf ROCKS! Also, the fact that there never was a line in front of the ladies restroom was a bonus. Sea Wolf ROCKS! On the other hand, our slightly surly bartendress was a challenge. It seemed that you had to catch her in a good mood as she passed you, otherwise she wasn't going to look at you, or serve you. I was lucky, but others were not! I saw her plainly ignore some people, while serving others. (Luckily, I was usually one of the served.) However, she kept forgetting what type of vodka our friends wanted, only remembering what kind I had just ordered. The strange thing is that she had the hearing of a hawk!! She just had the memory of a goldfish. Sea Wolf ROCKS!! Be that as it may, it was overall a very enjoyable experience! The company we were in, the band that was playing, and the comfortable weather in downtown SF all added up to a very pleasant evening! Sea Wolf ROCKS!!!
