This is why I like restaurant week. I can try the places I've heard are good and if they suck, I'm not totally disappointment (or out some serious cash). Luckily, this place lived up to the hype. The inside of Prime Rib is sleek and smooth. You are seated in black leather captain chairs. The sound of the piano falls softly in the background. It makes you feel like you are about to spend some serious money. Usually they have a dress code but for Restaurant Week it's relaxed (not sure if I should be offended by that or not). The waiter was awful. When I ordered a Diet Coke while the rest of our 4 person party was looking at the wine menu, he simply ignored my request. I never got it. We made fun of it all night like it was beneath him. Oh well, to the food.... I ordered their Caesar salad, for the first course. It was very tasty. Not a heavy cream based salad which can happen at other restaurants. Everyone ordered the prime rib for an entree. We had 2 medium wells, a medium, and a rare. Each steak came out perfectly. Mine was the medium and it was so juicy. There was a nice layer of pepper on it, too. Also, there wasn't a ton of fat on it which is a problem I have with other prime ribs. It was delicious! The dessert I chose was the chocolate mousse pie. It was extremely rich (in a good way!) and smooth. It was like heaven on a fork. After I was done, you could still taste it. That is what a good dessert should do! The only thing I could complain about is the sides. We were served mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. They were good, but there wasn't a lot of it. The table next to us was a table of 2 and they had the exact same portions as we did. I will definitely be going back.

The reincarnation of Chelsea Piers has finally come into fruition in the form of 300. As many bowling fans know, 300 represents a perfectly bowled game. Unfortunately this bowling alley that has been open for awhile, is far from perfect. The changes have have come about are to capitalize on the hot nightlife in the area, why not doll up a bowling alley and combine it with a lounge upstairs? The transformation is a nice one, enabling this bowling alley to become a posh nightlife spot with very stylish bowling. The music is usually being spun by a DJ and there are music videos played at night, during their cosmic like bowling section. Ambiance wise the place is impressive, with one of their best nights being Tuesday nights during the Bowling Bash. The prices at the previous Chelsea Piers Bowling was super expensive and unfortunately 300 is not much different. Shoe rentals are $6.00 each, with games ranging from $8-9 during work hours and $10-11 per person. Combine that with a few cocktails and some food, the bill can get pretty hefty. Speaking of food and cocktails, the menus are obviously souped up for higher end tastes. Gone are the classic junk / bar food and in place is a variety of gourmet American New fare. What is a real nuisance is the prices aren't listed on the website, leaving most folks to be surprised when they come and see a menu in person. Sadly, no matter how much better the food looks, it still tastes as mediocre as before. In the end, most folks are here to bowl on a twist. The price that results from coming here will undoubtedly be a deterrent for many visitors. If blowing money at a bar / club is inevitable, it may be worth considering to come here for an alternative night out.

I suppose if I didn't like beer and I liked to sing show tunes, I'd love this place. It's a good spot to bring a woman if you're trying to prove you're not a homophobe - without it suggesting that you're actually gay.
