by Richard Delguercio on I love 1 OAK. Although it's hard to avoid middle-aged balding men in NY clubs, most of them stay off the dance floor here, so you don't have to see them grinding with young ladies. Additionally, the bathrooms are super cool and have giant gun decor on the walls.
by Ian Retzler on I largely dislike the coat check girl. She was straight up rude and had an attitude right when we walked up to the coat check. They charge $3 a coat and she was impossibly snappy and tried to quickly dismiss us so we could pay her and get out of her way. This kind of service is unbelievable. We paid $15 to check our coats only to find out that there was a cover charge of $20 per person. We peeked into the club to find it completely empty and had a few sleazy looking patrons inside. After the whole episode with the rude coat check girl and the cover charge, we were completely turned off by this club and decided to check out GreenHouse. Of course we had to deal with the coat check girl again, Cielo is forever crossed off my list, needless to say I will never be returning thanks to the coat check girl and her rudeness.
by Sarah B. on I have been to Hiro twice. One night was alright because they had a singer from a small time performing live, and live music is always nice. The second time I went to Hiro, there was no special event, just half-naked women swinging from the ceiling while the crowd got drunker and drunker in hopes of finding true love, or better said, a true ACT of love, in an unnatural setting. I generally do not enjoy clubs with this vibe. However, it's a good place for guys to go to hunt out eye candy, if your type of candy is blond and dressed to impress.
