by Magnus v. on This place is a mess: pretentious but bad. The bartenders pretty much refused to even serve us all night long. Then, when they did serve us, they tried to overcharge by miscalculating totals. Later, some of our group who had gone out for a coffee next door were not let back in. Oh, and did I mention that they have the worst DJ ever? I didn't like a single song all night long. Do yourself a favor and don't go there.
by Joan S. on Review on the CLUB. Came here a two weeks ago on a Saturday night. It was a GNO (Girls Night Out). Three girls out of 7 girls were engaged, so we were celebrating that. We were on the VIP Guest list, so we got in for free w/o having to wait in line because one of our girls knew someone who promoted there that night. So, not waiting in line was a plus and getting in for free was another plus. I was always interested in going to Kress. I have always seen it since it is right across from Opera. There are 3 levels. When we went, we didn't know that there were three levels, so I assumed that we only stayed on the second level. We arrived around 10:30 pm. The level that we were on had two dance floors, couple booth tables, 2 bars, and a dj. There are also a VIP seating area with curtains that covered the entrance, but no one was there. As we entered, the place was basically dead. No one was really there, but a couple of people. Throughout the night, more and more people started to trickle in, but still it was not packed. On the plus side, it was really easy to get drinks. One shot of yager was around $10-12 which is pretty pricey for the amount that they give. They definitely don't give that much alcohol for your buck compared to other places. The music was okay. Overall, the club was okay. It was only fun because I came here with my girls. Would have given it a 2 Star, but the extra 3rd star goes out to the promoters, photographer, and security/bouncers. They were really nice and took really good care of us throughout the night.
by Peter Leuasseur on recently reopened this year & is very poorly run. the venue has a very bad sound setup. the bar is some of the worst service in the city. infested with hipsters.
