by Antonetta Prekker on This was my first visit to the Continental Midtown. I spent quite a lot of time in my early 20s at the Olde City location, though. Sat on the rooftop with three other people and we had a nice time. Since we just came from a bar and wanted food around 830 at night, we only ate side dishes. Our group enjoyed the French Onion Soup Dumplings very much. I highly recommend that you get this menu item. Other dishes ordered by the table were: Grilled Thai Chicken Skewers ($9), Grilled Tofu with cabbage slaw & peanut sauce ($7), a calamari dish with papaya salsa, the Continental salad and Cuban Black Beans & Rice ($4). [Sorry, the website doesn't have all of the items we ordered listed and I don't remember the prices.] The food hit the spot. The servers were all pleasant and prompt. It was a nice atmosphere and it served the purpose of getting some not-too-heavy grub mid-evening. I would definitely go back. I will acknowledge that we were there on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't very crowded or loud. I can see how at peak times that place can be jumping and it might not be as enjoyable as my visit was. Try to make it up to the rooftop, it was nice to experience something a little different in Center City.
