by Fiona L. on I generally don't review clubs, because I felt that most of them are basically the same. Overcrowded and expensive, but my friend insisted that I ought to review at least one to remind myself of the "awesome" time I had there. So long story short.. Went here on my friend's birthday with fellow rateclubser Samantha P. Scene was predominately asian with one or few outliers here and there but huge possibility that they came with their own asian crew. We didn't make a reservation but somehow we got in. It might be the fact we had 6 girls in our group, including 2 scantily clad ones that we had just met on the line. Music was good. Always overcrowded. Went outside a few times for air because it got a bit hard to breath. Drinks are always overpriced but good nonetheless. It was a nice out. Not too hot and not too cold. It was an enjoyable night.
by Keren L. on Bravo Zahav! So after wanting to try this restaurant for as long as it has been around, we finally decided to go during restaurant week. I was a bit worried about trying it out, as in my experience during restaurant week, most restaurants are too rushed with a different and abbreviated menu leading to a subpar experience. NOT in this case. The food was outstanding. The wait staff and bartenders were as friendly as they come. We weren't too impressed with the decor, but the food made up for it all too well. Being as both my boyfriend and I have some israeli roots, we were prepared to be critical. But in fact the food brought back some amazing memories... I am not even a big sweet fan, but even the desserts were like a taste of Israel.
by Elwood Ferrise on One of the better small music venues in San Francisco. The sound is good, the setting is intimate, and the back of the place provides a nice retreat from the crowd pressing the stage, should you need it. The drinks are reasonably priced, and if you don't have a chance to eat before coming to the show, the bar food is simple but decent. I've seen plenty of great indie rock and spoken word here, and enjoyed myself every time. The only drawback: If you're driving, the parking situation is less than ideal.
