by Mary F. on The Bad - Expensive - Overrated - Made reservations and ended up sitting near the kitchen and bathroom The Good - Lobster And Shrimp Spring Roll - Decor was cool. The Bottomline- Like Buddhakan, this place tastes like normal chinese food. it's just more expensive. Nice decor with the goldfishes. Food was okay, nothing special. You can check it out if you don't eat chinese food much. Buddhakan is so much better than Tao though.
by Jenn C. on I really wanted to like it, and tried to convince myself that each time was an "off-night" but really, I dislike coming here. First, thoughts on the restaurant. The food is not bad actually; but the service was horrible. They practically stared us down and kicked us out (a bunch of classy girls spending money) of the dining area to make way for ugly, UGLY B&T clubbers. When the doors opened for the masses my friend actually said out loud "You REALLY don't want to see what's out there. Uh...where ARE we?!" *in panicked voice* Now for the club part. The layout is terrible and poorly planned. I mean, the design is pretty nice in theory but it's not "like Vegas" as some people claim. Due to the placement of the bar, there's virtually no room for dancing. To get to the back room you have to wear stilettos on your hands instead and push through, or for a less aggressive approach just fart your way through. Really. The crowd is straight ghetto. I'd like to note that I've been here on 5-6 different occasions or so, with different promoters, different nights, etc with the same experience. Better bet=anything else, ie Harlot/Vessel on the weekends and Slide on Thursdays
by Kathey Federick on This is not a pub, it's a PUB-O-RAMA. It's huge it's not cozy, the music is blaring, the bartenders are running around. They didn't have a very extensive beer menu. It's just not a good place to hang out and have a beer. It's a big corporate looking Irish Bucca de Beppo.
