So I haven't been to this place in about a year and since I live in OC, coming to LA is a drag. Driving here isn't bad but the drive back is horrible. To many of us have DUI's so it's seldom that I head out to LA unless I'm spending the night. Anyways, my homeboy invited me to come out clubbin' at "My House" for his friends birthday. My bf and I got there 5 min prior to them. We got there around 10:15 and were on the guest list. All the things that people mentioned on rateclubs are VERY true! The bouncer at the door is a total Douche. Power struck for no reason. They make you wait on this patch of synthetic grass and randomly pick you out of the crowd. Even though my group only had two girls we manage to get in with ease (10 min. or so of waiting). Girls were free but the boys still had to pay $15.00. Once we got in there was NOBODY inside which is A-Okay with me because I headed straight to the bar without having to wait. By 11 it got crowded and it was crackin'. Even though it was crowded I never had to wait once at the bar. I'm not sure if people weren't drinking but I'm not complaining because I got my drink on! Biz Markee was the DJ and he was spinning old school hip hop and R&B which I LOVE hahaha. Yes the drinks are SUPER pricey and a bit water down but I still manage to get drunk and had a great time. I also enjoy how diverse the crowd was. People were extremely friendly. I'm not use to girls coming up to me and telling me that I was cute, look like a doll or giving me high fives but this happened through out the night. Over all I had a great time with my friends. I wouldn't necessarily come here as a weekend ritual but I will come back again. The ambiance was nice Dance floors are decent Crowd is good DJ is on point that night Spacious smoking area Parking lot next door All they have to do now is get friendlier security at the door because we are paying customers and ORGANIZATION up front!

I didn't have a chance to sample any food but I did sample plenty of delicious beer and I would never complain about that!  I must say my virgin experience at JB's was pretty awesome.  I bought tickets for someone as a gift and thought I would tag along to hear a band I've never heard.  The performance was great and the actual venue is perfect.  I scored a spot on the steps which gave me a perfect view of the band and the stage without any heads getting in the way.  Even though it was packed, the crowd was pretty mellow and seemed to be enjoying themselves.  I only took a quick walk through the first floor and noticed how large it was.  You can still come here and chill out on the first floor bar even if your not heading to a show.  My father was telling me how my grandpop used to drink there regularly before it became what it is today and the more I can get back, the more I can see myself doing the same.

My thoughts on Rouge are mostly composed of loosely stitched together funny stories or experiences.  Covered in lots of red velvet. I am generally inside Rouge really only by virtue of being in Nick's Crispy Tacos.  Until they started having the joint happy hour on Thursday and Friday nights (which is fantastic), I never set foot in Rouge, per se.  I just remembered it as the place that once got my boyfriend so hammered that he decided to run home early one Sunday morning.  So he ran ran ran, through the Broadway Tunnel, and stopped at some point in the middle of Chinatown, and realized that he was in Chinatown.  I should mention that at this point in time, he was living in the Marina.  Apparently the fact that he had to run through a tunnel to get home did not seem odd to him. The new combined happy hour with Nick's is fantastic...go for the $2 margaritas at Rouge instead of the $5 or $6 one at Nick's, and enjoy the fact that you won't hover over tables like carrion hoping that one will vacate, as the entire space is opened up.  The bartender at Rouge, however, moves slower than snail s*&t.  It is maddening.  It literally took us 20 minutes to get one margarita, and there was no apparent reason for it - it was busy, but not THAT busy. I think that fact that Rouge hosted a Girls Gone Wild event of some sort one night is very telling as to its normal nightlife.  This perturbed me immeasurably, as I hate Joe Francis and his sordid empire with the fire of a thousand burning suns.  Minus three stars for hosting anything related to Girls Gone Wild.  That *&^ is unacceptable.  However, I'll add one star for sending my boyfriend the wrong way through the tunnel.  The remaining three stars are for letting me chow on discount tacos on the red upholstery with a cheap margarita in hand.
