by doug s. on The Pro's: -Food is good -jazz venue is great -great jazz artists go there -nice atmosphere in the dining area -when the servers come around, they're really great with you The con's: -Service is a bit inattentive -meal is quite pricey I like Yoshi's. It's a good opportunity to get out of the house for dinner and a really good jazz show. The dinner is a bit expensive, but that's just one of those things I expect when I go out in the city.
by Santos Wagley on I've heard about this great little place in my neighborhood, called Top Floor. Never been, but finally dinner with friends called for something new. You see, there IS a reason that once I find a good restaurant, I go back....and this sure will NOT be one of those! And it probably should be called Basement! Where do I start....dirty silverware. Service....what service. Ordered a cheese appetizer and it came...a few pieces of cheese and nothing with it. My friend ordered an entree (forget the name) and it came, but in a really, really small dish. Turns out, it was the WRONG dish. So the attempted to correct it....with grilled salmon, just raw in the middle. They were nice enough not to charge for the bad salmon dish, but still charged us for the WRONG dish. No apologies offered...no management visit to try and make it right....Bad move. Both my friend and I are on the board for the neighborhood association and you can bet we won't be sending anyone here. And it's sad...the hangar steak was really good...but not worth the lack of service.
