by Pia V. on The tacos here are SO good!! My favorite is their shrimp taco, which you cannot get for the Happy Hour price during H.H. ... but it's worth the $$. But you've gotta get 'Nick's Way'. The prices can seem a bit steep, but you have to realize that you are paying for quality. This place doesn't just use any kind of garbage meat or ingredients. They use organic, local, and fresh line caught ingredients. This makes every single penny worth it! The place is a bit dirty, since it is Rouge at night ... but other then that there's nothing else to complain about. P.S. You've gotta try their hot sauce. It is the kicker.
by Johnna Renouf on Ugly decor, awaiting Jack Tripper to run out, serenading ivory keys, potent drinks with decor sticking out of them, women with Adams apples, and gregarious bartenders await you at Martuni's. The kind of bar you kick yourself for not going to sooner. Come here ASAP to get a feeling for what S.F. can be like. Friendly, drunk with some attitude and flair. Bartenders are a friendly bunch and will do their best in getting you smashed with success. Bar patrons represent the whole color of the freaky rainbow. From the straight laced newbie who wandered in (raises hand!) to the drag queen who needs a rest from roaming the streets looking to turn a trick in her ten inch plastic gold fish heels.
