What's NOT to love about this place? Good beer, good food (pastami, pickled eggs, pretzels and FREE PEANUTS are my favorites), sports showing on over 10 flatscreens, shuffleboard, darts, pool, trivia night on tuesdays, and GOOD, FRIENDLY SERVICE! Thank you!!

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! I don't know what happened. What can we do to stop this? A petition? Will that do it? Do we need to have a bake sale to raise money to keep the doors open? A demonstration of some sort? Who did this? Who is responsible? I should have stopped by more. That's it. It is all my fault. This place is (was) the BEST. PLACE. PERIOD. Too many good memories. Actual quote overheard one night, wall to wall packed, bootieChicagoBaltimoreHouse HITTING it on all pistons. Sweat. Bodies. Other stuff. SUNDAY NIGHT?! My friend and I were trying to walk out to the front to get some air and a cig after dancing for an hour straight. Traffic jam on the stairs going up. Get stuck behind this dude that is wicked-stylied out and a girl with biguns. Guy: (really bad british accent) "Yo Girl. It's not my Lamborghini. It's not even what I do. I'm just THAT. INTO. YOU!" My Friend DP: "He's just that into you girlfriend." Big busty-boob girl: "OMG, do you know him?" Fake British Dude: (thumbs up! Mouths the words thank you. He is in it to win it) When me and my girl wanted to bootie-fy it, Le Deux Deux Deux was the place. First found this place soon after it opened and we had just moved to the City. And now it is gone. And I am moving to NYC. So I guess if it had to happen, now would be the time....but still. The place was a diamond in the rough, literally. And none of "that" element made it down from the Marina and other such douchey parts of the city. Why Bianca? Why? Are you guys doing something else? Where? Can I get on the list?

This place isn't for everyone. Let me just get that out of the way. If you're coming to the ATL and want to get all decked out and go to the club with that chic new dress and see all the pretty people, stop reading right here and go check out another club. That being said, I'm NOT saying there aren't pretty people at MJQ, because there ARE, but MJQ is all about the music and dance. I really don't come here often, but I have a great time when I do. The first time I went I questioned going into the shack, "Was this some kind of cult? Maybe this was some kind of vampire layer, where I was being lured in only to become supper!!!" I went in to find the club was underground. It's a bit "dungeony", but it has a distinct character. It is very pure in the sense that you can just go there for the soul of the music without worrying about your hair etc. etc. You'll also find some of the best dancers here too. This non pretentious environment and great music makes for a very fun evening. It's probably why this place has been around so long while many of the other clubs have come and gone.
