STAY AWAY FROM ANY FOOD! I've visited here once in a while with out of town clients, and I must say food is horrible and years after years they serve crap and charge astronomical price. Blue Note is just liek Moulin Rouge in Paris, you are going there to see the show, not to eat, period. For that same amount of money, I'd order 20 happy meal and 10 drinks across the street (fat puss). Also, what's up with music selection here!? When did JAzz become easy listening!? When I went there it was all Christmas music and had nothing to do with jazz (okay maybe one or two gig) I will still go there because my out of town clients love this place, but not with my $...

while marquee definitely used to be a serious hot spot - it's definitely lost its once glamorous rep. I've been a couple of times in the last couple of months and I've been pretty disappointed. the back room on the first floor has a bit of appeal because it's cozier and more intimate than the rest of the club, but I don't really want to be that intimate with the crowd of wannabe socialite and junior partiers that marquee attracts nowadays. usually, i can create a good time there - if there's a couple of us, we'll get wasted and go nuts - one majorly redeeming aspect: the music is amazing.

A constant crowd of smokers outside suggests the Ear is packed on a Friday at 6:30, but quite the contrary. Inside, it's crowded, but there are plenty of tables available. The burger is delicious, served with buttery oven-roasted potatoes and a slight salad. Top it with cheese, order a beer, and push through the crowd outside to take a mid-evening cigarette in. Classic bar. Classic food. Classic booze. Hear me?
