Hello East Side Showroom. Remember me? I was at that table you ignored all night long. You know the one... the one that had to ask 3 times for more water, that you never checked in on... the one that you just cleared plates that weren't empty without asking if we were done? Yes, that table... well here's your rateclubs review. I wanted to like this place and I do like the decor. I love that they kept a lot of the history of the building and filled it with a hodgepodge of antiques and odd items. There were interesting things to look at everywhere. So they get a star for decorating. I did like the bartenders. Before our table was ready we sat at the bar and little did I know.. we would've stayed there. The bartender was very friendly, answered my questions about which drink he was making and even adjusted my drink when I wanted it a little sweeter. So the bartender gets a star. The drinks are pricey and so is the food. We had a Sampler cheese plate, Bison carpatico, a croissant with fondue cheese and some cobbler. The food was good but the ice cream was completely melted by the time it arrived (and we were a good 5 steps from the kitchen). I would've given the food a star (because it was good/although pricey).... but the waitress and the poor service took all of my remaining stars. Our waitress was very attentive to other tables... just not ours. I think we forgot to wear our skinny jeans and vintage dresses and that really affected our service. Then she'd clear plates before people were done. She swooped in and took the cheese fondue while my friend was chewing her food so she wasn't able to stop her. The cobbler was supposed to be peach but it wasn't peach. It was some kind of berry. We arrived there late (after 10) and were there to watch the band and nosh on some noshings. THAT'S why we were eating so slowly. I think if I want to drop this kind of cash (for all of that our bill was over $90 and we were treated like we were a bother)... I'd rather go somewhere with better service. From the other rateclubs reviews I doubt this was a one-off.

I'm just reviewing the Sky Rink and the batting cage. Haven't been to the Fitness Club yet. +1 for a nice indoor batting cage. -1 Way too pricey for the FS session. I did save a little by paying for packs of 10, but I feel funny about doing that given that I only visit NYC once a year and I only skate at CP when I have a lesson there. (Thankfully the FS book of 10 NEVER expires!!!) :-) +1 for wonderfully smooth ice +1 for my wonderful coach in NYC! He's the main reason I come back to the Sky Rink year after year. Very technical, detailed, yet not physics "over my head" type. LOVE the guy!!!

This "cafe", which is more like a lounge to me since I've only visited it during the night, is great. The drinks are served well as the waitresses are awesome. The atmosphere is extremely social and I've always had a blast with my friends here, whether they were Korean or not. Definitely a great spot for a few of those in New York that know.
