by Linwood Shartrand on My 50th Review yay! A classic glamorous location to party. We had our Holiday Party during the week. The Door: Considering it was holiday party I can not comment on the door service since we were already expected. The Christmas decorations outside were definitely beautiful. Decor: So was the inside. The chandeliers , velvet couches and the glasses everywhere gave the illusion that the space was bigger than it actually was. There is no official dance floor, so make use of the passageway as a twofold dance space. The nooks around the room was definitely made for large groups to come and chill together. I thought it was interesting that the glass ceiling was slanted at an angle, a little strange, but still pretty. Drinks: The drinks were already paid for so I can only comment on how good they were and the service. Two bartenders were a party of over 200 was a little below par, meaning they were slow. Music: No reggae or hip hop instead techno, pop and top 40's. I made the best of it. Bathrooms: Cute, but small. I don't understand the concept of these narrow behind bathrooms. It is almost slightly discriminatory, image if I was a bigger girl, I would have some serious issues in these narrow bathrooms. Would I go back again? yes, but I would definitely have to ask for another DJ.
by Myron Scarpitta on What's better way to start the year than hit a nightclub and get in for free? Went to Tropicana night club last night with my girl and a couple friends. First time in the club but had fun until I got kicked out for fighting. First things first... Two dancfloors of music. The main dance floor is pretty much latin music. Bachata, merengue, salsa and reggaeton. They play other genres but it's pretty much all Spanish. The dance floor is not really big neither is the stage but you have enough space to dance. Imagine how full it was since it was free. I didn't step foot in the hip hop so I can't tell you how big it is. I hear it's pretty big. Decor is cool. They tried to make it a tropical scene I guess. Lol Bar is pretty big. Top shelf drinks. Now to the good stuff. We did VIP. VIP includes two bottles and a hookah which for $300 is pretty good. We bought four bottles. Two Henny VSOP, Moet and Chandon. Did it pretty big with the fellas and lady. VIP area is kinda sloppy. The area is nice as you have view of everything and everyone has view of you. Good spot to go and dance some bachata. Chill with friends while watching spanish artist sing to a full house. Cheap bottles make it a great night.
by Molly K. on Compound was a great club. Lots of different little rooms to mix and mingle with, people and music wise. The only problem to me was, the parking and the bathrooms. The rooms all have a different theme to them, like the garden which is outdoors and has a little pond and mini bridge, and the "ride" room which is basically white room with a huge dancefloor. It's a good spot to mingle and dance at. Each room is provided with music, so you go where the music may take you. Sad to see it go, hopefully the comeback will come soon.
