CM1 (my sister): Cas, help me plan their birthday party. me: hm? CM1: they want to do something different...bowling maybe. me: uh..you can always bowl. CM1: then what? me: what about a mechanical bull? CM1: genius! me: oh this is going to be good... A joint birthday party for three people with 20+ guests. Did my sister have any problems booking space for their huge party? None whatsoever. Seems that VET is made for groups. When we were there, there were at least three or four other large groups having some sort of celebration. The food was average. Nothing really to write home about. The drinks were...okay. Cocktails were on the sweet side, so i stuck with shots and whiskey. I'd talk about the drink prices if I could but they weren't listed on the menu. But I guess we weren't here for that. The music was...interesting. From hip hop to house to merengue and well I have never seen so many hipsters, thugs and everyone in between doing the cha-cha slide in williamsburg. so, so random. anyways, despite the friendly service, i wouldnt go out of my way to go here. i guess if you're in the mood to ride...a bull (everyone that rode the bull had a great time) and are in williamsburg. stop in. if not, keep it moving.

Wow, I thought I had already reviewed this place since I've been here a million times! I remember the first few times I went here, the club was sparsely occupied and the music seemed like it was playing top 40 from an iPod hooked up to their sound system. Now, it's bumpin' every weekend with a line not only ouside the doors, but one that winds all the way down stairs to the main lobby. They revamped this place with real DJs that mix music and videos on the spot, hot go-go dancers, local photographers that capture the see-and-be-seen crowd, and tons more security to match the big crowd. The security can be a big buzz-kill sometimes, they won't let u dance on the dance floor with a drink in your hand and they'll escort you out if they think you look a little too drunk (even if you're not causing problems), but when a wench throws her drink at your boyfriend for no reason, they do nothing.... Amnesia's been fun for a while, but I don't know whether it's because I've been going there a lot, or that they've just become a little too haughty for my taste... but I would like to try new venues in the D other than Amnesia.

This ain't Vegas- for sure. Don't let the odd location in a Big Lots parking lot fool you. Once you walk in you'll change your mind. The music is different on any given night, from hip hop to mash ups, to top 40's. The place glows of red lighting and bars along the walls.
