by Rosamond Onsgard on I really like this place. I went for an event a friend was throwing and so for 10 bucks I got as many well drinks and drafts as I could toss back. Seemingly I found out how many I couldn't as I was quite sick later. However! The bar had a nice vibe, great staff (Thanks Annie!), and strong drinks. I appreciate a bar that doesn't chintz me. Not that I'll be drinking ever again. I do hope to drop by here for some food at some point!
by Jin Y. on It's that time of the year again, my good friends birthday. She tells me, we will be going to Hiro. I just thought okay.. another party.. nothing special. Being the good friend I am I will definitely be there. The day comes, me and 2 girlfriends took a cab to Hiro and we went inside to wait for rest of the party to arrive, mm.. nice place I thought to myself, they had good music playing in the background. Great lights, great crowd (mixed) and already at 11 pm there was a floor packed with people dancing. They have a few bars, up stairs (lounge area with an open view of the bottom floor) and down stairs (main dance floor). Plenty of tables if your group wants bottle service. There's a few spots inside Hiro away from the crowd, which are the corners of the bottom floor, the bathroom area (there's comfortable benches where you can sit) and the hallway to exit the club. The signal downstairs is not that great for some reason, just go upstairs if you need to use your phone. During the hours we were there, they had 2 very hot dancers dancing where the DJ was located. Then 2 more performances which was pretty cool, they had 2 girls swinging around in the middle of the club's ceiling, and later on a girl doing fire tricks which is my first time seeing this. I didn't expect to have this much fun here but we had a great time. If you want to go outside for some air don't forget to get a stamp to get back in. They stamped it on my wrist and it had the coolest letters. It's not an ugly X or a dumb smiley face.
by Celina Allston on From San Francisco and it's true...I had never had a Philly Cheesesteak until I came here. We were going to go to Pat's, but the line was far too long so we made the mistake of coming here. So the experts ordered for me and I had a sandwich with meat, "wiz", and onions. Wiz tastes like bad nacho cheese sauce. Gross. So I slathered mine in terribly hot sauce that should be labeled "Lethal" since only then was it bearable. It did make the BF look like he was going to die while he gagged repeatedly. At least I got free entertainment. I only managed to eat a few bites before a friend finished mine. My stomach hurt all day long the next day and I had to put up with the BF and his gnar gnar gas attacks. The only good thing was the cheese fries, which I will give one star for since these were DELICIOUS! The cheese did not taste the same as the "wiz" sauce, but who knows, maybe it was.
