by Drew L. on I would have given this restaurant 3 stars but it deserves a little something extra for two reasons: 1) The happy hour specials are actually quite reasonable more importantly: 2) Upon request, the server will provide an ENTIRELY VEGETARIAN menu. I am 90% sure that they also have an entirely vegan menu. Any chef / restaurant that shows us veges that much respect deserves a little something extra. The perogies were the most delicious thing I had there. Plus for it being one of the happy hour appetizers! Everything else I had was good, but not great. Service was very good for both happy hour and dinner.
by Adam M. on It is a nice bar to finish off at after some shopping. It is old school New York with that great mural that makes the bar. A few nibblies and drinks will lighten your wallet, but in a town where he new bars and nightclubs look more and more like Miami and LA than NY, it is nice to have this bar to return to and soak up old world charm and the industrial age relics that go with it.
by Basil Hara on The ambiance was kind of Melrose Place visits Sunset Blvd., in that all the rooms surrounded the pool, and the nightly shenanigans usually involved the pool. This is a one of a kind place. A motel turned into something way more. A place that embraces the inner HST you have inside of you. We decided to stay an extra day and had two different rooms. In the first one, there was a bullet hole in the bathroom window. Obviously left there for effect. In the second room, I walked out at night as our neighbors opened the door, unleashed a cloud of pot smoke the likes of which could've engulfed Jamaica, and kicked a hooker out of their room. It's that type of place. Still, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and they have an above average breakfast buffet each morning. If you're driving to SF, this is the place you should stay. Even if you're not, I'd consider this place over the corporate hotel chains.
